POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

November 22, 2019.

This was the day I put my dreams into action.

This was the weekend I flew up to berkeley to make the carrot sculptures with my brother, but more importantly this is the day I committed to being a full time artist.

I’ve always identified as an artist- but this time I was making a promise to myself that I would show up for myself as much as I’d showed up for everyone else.
If I could nike it for others- why the hell shouldn’t I nike it for myself.

I saw this whole show (LIVING, ASSISTED) before this day in 2019- and It felt as real then as it does today.

Every day since this photo I’ve showed up in my studio, to sew, to sand, to paint, to design, to build what I knew I needed my future to be.

The hardest part about seeing this photo is knowing how much of myself I had to lose in order to get to this point, I had exhausted fear and found desperation.

In that regard - this photo is a reminder to trust myself and let that lead me in all I do.

Outside of the work I’ve done with kids- nothing has been as rewarding.

It also goes without saying… this journey has been much easier thanks to friends/ community. 🥰🫶🙏!!! Merci
