Fundraiser description:

Our friend Alberto is an artist, performer and poet. Some of you may have seen him in Bad Behavior, the show we did together in Rogers Park last fall. While bicycling to a rehearsal for our show at the beginning of June, he was hit by a car. He went to the ER, where he was told he would need emergency surgery for a broken ankle. It took a couple of weeks to get the referral, and now he is having trouble getting Medicaid to cover the surgery.

The surgical center is demanding a $2000 down payment for the emergency surgery. While Alberto and friends are still trying to figure out if his insurance will cover the surgery, we need to help him get the surgery ASAP because any further delays could cause complications. (The insurance of the person who hit him with the car is only covering the cost of the initial ER visit.)

Our initial ask is $2000, which will allow him to schedule his surgery ASAP. If we are able to raise that much, we will increase the goal, so that we can also help Alberto with rent and bills for the time he is out of work.

Please come see this untameable beast of a play eat us up and spit us out ! It has been an absolute honor to work with such an incredible team under fantastical yet grounded direction. I am so grateful to help bring this creature to life... and maybe become one myself >:)
