March 23rd marked one year from the passing of our dear founder of FireBeak Animation, but more importantly who was my wonderful husband of almost twenty years, and the incredible father of our four wonderful children.

While my heart and the hearts of our amazing children ache for him every single day, we remind ourselves of the love he has for us, letting each of us know in such tender ways, and we also remind ourselves of the contagious drive and passion he had in the Animation Industry! Creating Firebeak Animation was always a goal of his and to have for our family! I am so honored, along with the help of many like our dear friend and wonderful and talented producer and actor Jackie Nico @the.jnico , to continue making his dreams, our dreams, a reality!

Our goal at Firebeak for all of our projects, like our most recent project ‘Golden’, A Rumplestiltskin Tale, is to inspire and give hope! Our family has lived by this fact…that no matter what life may bring there is always hope, and that is something my amazing Eddie never gave up on and he would encourage you to do the same!

Mary Grampp, a mother of four, lost her husband Eddie of 20 years to brain cancer. Together, after the passing of their daughter McKaylee, they created “Golden”—a reimagined Rumpelstiltskin tale dedicated to her memory.

Eddie, a veteran of Walt Disney Feature Animation, and Mary, a former Disney cast member, poured their hearts into this story of hope. Today, Mary continues Eddie’s dream to bring “Golden” to life as an animated feature with producer Jackie Nico.

So proud to share this! I remember so clearly many times Eddie asking for my advice with this animation. He did such a great job!

So why and how did my sweet husband Eddie come up with the name, Firebeak Animation?

Eddie and I were married for twenty years, together for twenty one. He passed away just a little less than two months before our twenty year anniversary. Truly the best years of our lives we would say because we had each other, and our children. Throughout our marriage we were dealt with many trials that truly tested us as individuals and as a couple. But what we realized through each trial that came our way was that you learn how to navigate through it while holding onto each other as well as the anchors that we already had in our hearts, realizing we were getting stronger for the next tidal wave coming our way!

Eddie would often compare that to a Phoenix, that always rises from its ashes to live again, stronger than before! “I am the Phoenix” quickly became his mantra in life, holding onto the learned knowledge that no matter what life brings we can and will rise again!

After Eddie passed away we created this LLC and are excited to see the creations that will be under its umbrella - starting with, ‘Golden’ A Rumpelstiltskin Tale!
