LORD! the tears I’ve cried you’d think i have no more tear ducts! Sometimes I’ve even prayed to God asking why it’s so easy for me to cry over most things. Feeling like a dang punk! 🥴😩

Why couldn’t this not be optional!? Like way can’t all difficult things just occur inevitably on its own so that we wouldn’t be able to avoid it or hinder it from happening?

Growing is hard work. Some folk really go out of their way to avoid it altogether. Y’all know who I’m talking about. Think back to some of your old high school classmates.... I can pinpoint a handful of them who are “stuck” in their way of doing this thing called life.

I am not saying that to judge. What I’m saying is that I don’t want to be stuck. I want to progress. I don’t want to be the same person I was back in high school. I want to grow!! I’m choosing to grow! HBU!?

Not sure about you but many things I go through catch me by surprise! I’m surprised that people still don’t know how to hold doors open for others, surprised that disappointment still stings even when I expect it to happen, I’m surprised that there are people out there that still fully believe that Black lives don’t matter. Call me crazy!! There is still a part of me that is still surprised.

It’s sooo much easier to choose anger, bitterness, anxiety, negativity, and the like. It often times feels like default for us to fall back on because let’s be honest, choosing joy is TOUGH SIS!!!
