Only the strong will survive in entrepreneurship!

A year ago, I closed the doors to my retail shop and shifted fully online. What many didn’t see was the storm I was walking through—family losses, a difficult landlord, supply chain chaos, managing multiple businesses, and the weight of feeling unsupported. In those dark moments, I questioned everything: Why did I even start this business? Was I really cut out for entrepreneurship?

Some called me a failure. DMs poured in, not with encouragement but with criticism. At one of my lowest points, I felt the sting of judgment louder than the quiet voice telling me not to give up.

But in that silence, I began to hear something else, LESSONS.

I realized I hadn’t put the right systems in place to truly scale. I realized that obstacles weren’t punishments, they were teachers. And most importantly, I realized that a lack of support was never a reason to quit.

I regrouped. I reconnected with my “why.” I surrounded myself with like-minded dreamers. I remembered that I created Roots + Fire Water not just to sell tea, but to give my community access to wellness in a cup—to healing, ritual, and restoration.

This past year has been about resilience, reflection, and redemption. And now, I’m ready.

🌱 Roots + Fire Water Co. is rising again. In two weeks, our new website will launch, and with it, a new chapter.

Stay tuned, because this is more than tea—it’s transformation.

How do y’all think our ancestors practiced medicine, they farmed, studied how their farm animals interacted with plants, and read books! They didn’t have the internet to depend on, just ancient wisdom, tried and true, passed down through generations.

Thanks @kcachicago for having @rootsandfirewater as a guest speaker at the beautiful “Love In Action: A Garden Party” brunch event. The space, speakers, and inspiration was so nurturing and they set such a warm, community focused atmosphere. Spirits and minds we’re definitely fed. I encourage anyone in the Chicagoland area to visit the Kehrein Center for the Arts. It’s a great organization to donate to and become a member of. Check out the wonderful things they’re doing!

Persimmon leaf is a remarkable herb known for its high levels of antioxidants, including flavonoids and tannins, which help fight free radicals and support overall health. It’s also rich in vitamins C and A, promoting immune function and skin health. Additionally, persimmon leaves are prized for their ability to improve digestion, reduce inflammation, and support cardiovascular health by helping to lower blood pressure and cholesterol levels. These qualities make it a valuable ingredient in our Butterfly Belly detox tea. 🌿✨

For an extra health boost, add persimmon fruit to the tea to enhance the flavor with its natural sweetness. 😋
