Consider this my audition to be your wedding florist if you’re getting married in Brainerd or Nisswa next year 🤩

While I’m based primarily south of Minneapolis, I love traveling a few hours north to venues like @northernpacificweddings @catalyst.naturelink @grandviewlodgeweddings @maddensresort

And I don’t charge travel fees to get there, like so many Twin Cities based wedding vendors (now consider this a reminder to ask your vendors what their travel fees are if they leave their typical service area!)

My top tip when thinking through your wedding flowers:

Spend on what makes the most impact.

What does this mean? Often it means dedicating a more significant portion of your floral budget than you think to one area—a gorgeous ceremony setup that will be part of all your favorite photos, the head table where all your favorite people are sitting and everyone else is watching all night, a hanging installation that makes your jaw drop so hard you don’t care what else is happening in the room.

Rather than spreading out florals to every nook and cranny (although I love a venue dripping in flowers, don’t get me wrong) think of the spaces or moments you want to highlight throughout your wedding and let’s emphasize the florals there before figuring out through the rest.

This mantle setup behind the head table was my favorite moment from our wedding this past weekend, if you can’t tell by the many angles I captured it from! I designed this mantle piece on site and we added the two repurposed ceremony urns to top it all off. If I can’t stop staring at something my team and I designed, even after the fact, then I know you won’t be able to get it out of your head either 😘

Leaning hard into fall everything now that September is almost over and realizing I never shared this stunning fall wedding from last October 🤩

Getting married during a certain season doesn’t dictate what your design should look like, but I think there is always an extra layer of magic that happens when the flowers are seasonally appropriate. This is especially easy to do when you choose to prioritize local blooms like I do!

Bold blues & vibrant purples for Rebecca & Jack’s wedding and I couldn’t be more obsessed with how it all came together! To say I was in awe seeing the reception space once it was complete is an understatement. @fireweedflowerco is actually beyond incredible and it turned out a million times better than I could have ever imagined!!!!

If you’re new around here you might not know that I was a flower farmer for 7 years, including 4 years of having my own flower farm! The last season I farmed was 2023, and I was pregnant the whole dang season 🤰🏼😅

Why does this matter? Because I know intimately how special and painstaking and all-consuming it is to grow flowers and get them into the hands of people who will love them as much as the farmer does. I understand the complexity of seasonal timing and rolling with the flow of what is or isn’t blooming this week. I believe with my whole being that locally grown flowers are superior in just about every way to anything shipped in plastic from across an ocean.

This deep knowing of and commitment to local flowers means that I always start by ordering from my favorite farmers first before the imported flower wholesaler, and I always leave room for the magic of what new gorgeous goodies might show up at market that week ✨

I wasn’t planning on fluffy spirea for Sierra + Luke’s late May wedding last year because spirea season feels about two seconds long. BUT it was kismet because the spirea was in its prime that week, so I used it everywhere 🤩

Feeling a connection with your wedding vendors is important! Here are some signs I might be the perfect florist for you:

🌷 your wedding centers the people who will support your marriage, not just who your MIL wants to invite
🌷 your color palette can be bright & bold or subtly neutral, but you’ve chosen each shade for a reason
🌷 you want to hire vendors you trust, and then let them do their thing
🌷 you value wedding flowers for the beauty and energy they bring to the day, and don’t just need a florist because “every wedding has flowers”
