This collab was built around Tribal community.

What started with two Indian Relay shirts became a year-long project connecting talented Native artists, businesses, and different Nations, each bringing something of their own together with one goal: to celebrate and support Indian Relay.

Artist — Chelysa R. Owens-Cyr, the artist behind CHIEFN Designs (Fort Peck Assiniboine & Sioux Tribes & Pasqua First Nation), brought her Plains ledger-inspired style to the project. Her work includes collaborations with Pendleton, Nike N7, tribes, and Native organizations across Indian Country. We have a lot of love and appreciation for her vision and for being part of this project.

Printer — Laura Nicole, founder of Valley Center Print Shop (San Pasqual Band of Kumeyaay & Pauma Valley Band of Luiseño Indians). Laura connected with this project because of what it represented—community, supporting Native businesses, and supporting Indian Relay. She brought both designs to life through her incredible work.

Relay Teams — Birdinground Relay & Little Mountain Relay, racing out of the Crow Nation. Each team represents the teamwork and year-round dedication behind the sport of Indian Relay. Behind every race is work most people never see—training and caring for their horses, traveling thousands of miles, and working together throughout the season. Relay isn’t just something they do on the weekends. It’s a way of life built around horses, family, competition, and generations of horsemanship.

Native sport. Native art. Native-owned printing. Native businesses. Different Nations working together for the love of the game.

Indian Relay is more than a sport. It is courage, trust, family, culture, and generations of tradition carried forward at full speed.

These shirts were created to support Little Mountain Relay from Pryor, Montana, and Birdinground Relay Team from Crow Agency, as they travel the relay circuit and proudly represent their communities.

This artwork was created by Chelysa Owens and proudly printed by Valley Center Print Shop, a Native-owned print shop.

Recap from the Muckleshoot Gold Cup. 🏆

FC is a proud sponsor of Little Mountain Relay and Birdinground Relay.

Little Mountain Relay won what many are calling the photo finish of the season, while Birdinground Relay battled their way to a 3rd-place finish in the Gold Cup Championship.

Both teams repping new First Citizen Co. relay gear and carried Crow Country with them. We are proud of you boys!

This was one of those projects that reminded me why I love this industry.

Incredible artwork by @chief_leese, brought to life through print work for @first.citizen.

Representing Crow Country, both Birdinground Relay and Little Mountain Relay are racing at Emerald Downs in the 2026 Muckleshoot Gold Cup.

From the artist’s vision to the finished print, every step was powered by talented people coming together to create something meaningful. Grateful to play a small part in bringing these stories and identities to life.

Sometimes you meet people in the most unexpected ways, and those end up being the most meaningful connections.

I had the opportunity to meet @first.citizen this weekend spontaneously and it was more than I expected. Amazing work, great energy, and most importantly, a genuine heart for the community and uplifting Indigenous businesses.

I’m looking forward to what we’re about to build together. This collaboration already feels special.
