Every behavior has a job. 💼
In ABA, behaviors usually serve 1 of 4 functions:
🔹 ATTENTION: "look at me!"
🔹 ESCAPE: "get me out of this!"
🔹 ACCESS: "I want that!"
🔹 SENSORY: "this feels good"
When you know the WHY, you can teach a better way to get the same need met. That is the real work.

Want to understand a challenging behavior? Write down the ABCs. 📝
A = Antecedent (what happened right BEFORE)
B = Behavior (exactly what the child did)
C = Consequence (what happened right AFTER)
Do this 5–10 times and patterns pop out, and the pattern tells you WHY the behavior keeps happening. Data beats guessing, every time.
Save this as your cheat sheet! 💾

¿Quieres entender una conducta desafiante? Anota el ABC. 📝
A = Antecedente (qué pasó justo ANTES)
B = Conducta (exactamente qué hizo el niño)
C = Consecuencia (qué pasó justo DESPUÉS)
Hazlo 5–10 veces y los patrones aparecen, y el patrón te dice POR QUÉ la conducta sigue ocurriendo. Los datos vencen a las suposiciones, siempre.

The simplest tool in ABA — and one of the most powerful. 🧩
A first-then board shows your child: FIRST do the not-so-fun thing, THEN get the good stuff. It works because it makes the deal visual and predictable.
Pro tip: the "then" has to be something your child actually wants — that's what powers the whole thing. Save this for your next tough transition! 💛

Un tablero primero-después le muestra a tu hijo: PRIMERO haz lo no tan divertido, DESPUÉS obtén lo bueno. Funciona porque hace el trato visual y predecible.
