A modern glass wine cellar at Château Lalande in Saint-Julien — clean lines, beautiful bottles, and proof that wine country doesn’t always have to mean old stone and rustic cellars.

I love the contrast of something so rooted in tradition presented in such a modern way.

Definitely filing this one away for the dream cellar someday.

Collected Living. 🍂

Fall is here, and maybe it’s the change of season, but lately I’m really loving rooms that feel collected rather than decorated. A little warmer, a little more layered, and definitely not like everything arrived on the same day.

A room shouldn’t feel like it was finished in a day.

The spaces I love most feel collected over time — a little old mixed with new, natural materials, different textures, and pieces that actually mean something to the people who live there.

For me, it comes down to three things:

1. Mix old + new. Something with a little history instantly gives a room character.
2. Layer texture + natural materials. Wood, stone, linen, greenery — the things that bring warmth and depth.
3. Make it personal. Art from a trip, books you actually read, something passed down, or that slightly imperfect piece you simply love.

Not everything needs to be new.
Not everything needs to match.

A home should feel like it was collected through places, people and time.

Some trips come home with you. 🍋

This lemon pasta is my little twist on the flavors I love from Italy — fresh pasta, lemon, garlic, arugula and plenty of Parmigiano.

I’ve adjusted it over time, and somewhere along the way a few French ingredients found their way in too. I happen to think almost everything is made better with a little French influence. :)

That’s what First Sip Living is really about for me: taking inspiration from the places we travel, the meals we remember and the little details we love — and finding ways to bring that feeling home to share with family and friends.

For the first sip? Falanghina from Campania. Crisp, citrusy, affordable and such a beautiful match with lemon pasta. One of my favorites is Feudi di San Gregorio.

Some of my favorite design ideas don’t start in a showroom.

They start with a color I noticed while traveling, an old floor, a café chair, a beautiful table, or a place I didn’t want to leave.

I love bringing those little pieces of inspiration home and finding a way to make them your own.
