Suffer together. Finish together. Hyrox Phoenix. by @firstvictorycoaching

This soccer field has become my personal battlefield for the next few weeks.

With summer here, I love to take sprint work outside. Last week, I was just a few steps shy of making it across the whole field in 10 seconds.

So, for the next few sessions, I will add the parachute and see if that gets me where I need (want) to be. Across the line in 10 seconds.

................

Aging or injury doesn't mean stopping. With intelgent progression, you can bring sprinting back into your life. The ability to move at max effort velocity can truly be life-saving, both in the literal and metabolic sense.

Skipping the intelgent progressions is a surefire way to end up with an injury.

Keep the fire burning! 💪 Stay strong, stay fast, and age like a champion.

As we age, maintaining speed and power can feel like an uphill battle due to natural declines in muscle mass and strength, known as sarcopenia, which can start as early as our 30s. This age-related power loss can impact our energy, mobility, and independence. But it’s not inevitable!

Yes, If you don't use it you loose it!

With consistent strength training, proper nutrition, and an active lifestyle, you can fight back against muscle decline, boost endurance, and keep your vitality soaring. by @firstvictorycoaching

Relentless Forward Progress💪

We have progressed to challenging mobility and work capacity in gear as we near a full return to work for this firefighter after a total hip replacement.

Injury Prevention is a Myth...

You will get hurt or injured. There is no way around it. The severity is dependent on an endless amount of variables. One thing we do know for sure is that if you injure a part of your body, odds are that it will happen again.

The only true way back to function is to lean into that injury and double down on intelligently programmed strength training to support that body part.

Largely due to insurance company factors, most physical therapy programs end when the pain subsides. This leaves individuals exposed to likely re-injury. (Plus, you probably didn't do what your PT told you to do anyway)

After an injury, physical therapy gets you back in the fight. Strength training will keep you there.

At First Victory Coaching I seamlessly blend the 2 words so you are truly never out of the fight.

🔥 Why Rehab Should Mimic Work Demands for Firefighters 🚒

Firefighters face intense physical and mental challenges on the job—hauling heavy gear, climbing ladders, and battling extreme heat. Rehab programs must mirror these real-world demands to ensure our heroes are ready to save lives. 💪 Tailored exercises, intelligently progressed, that replicate firefighting tasks build strength, endurance, and resilience, reducing injury risks and boosting performance.

AND MOST PTs DO NOT DO THIS...

You are looking at a firefighter 8 weeks post Total Hip Replacement Surgery.

In this session, we are preparing to Dismount the Engine, Remove / Replace Equipment, and Carrying Equipment.

This was part of a larger session that included a targeted warm-up and power drills.

If you are struggling with injury and contemplating surgery. DM me to discuss planning your comeback. I coordinate directly with your clinician to develop next level training plans💪

Injury Resilience is about more than just the physical. MINDSET plays a huge role in how well we come back from injury.

At the moment of impact, there is the sharp, intense physical pain...and with that, almost instantly, comes the negative emotions. Fear (how bad is it, will I be able to work, can I afford the medical bills), Frustration (that was stupid, I won't be able to ...., why did this have to happen now, I'm gonna be so far behind now). Disrupted sleep, missed activities, the list goes on and on.

Some injuries truly are life changing, while others are just a short term irritations. Either way controlling your mindset and focusing on a path forward is crucial.

If you are dealing with pain, injury, or contemplating surgery. Do Not let yourself wallow in self-pity or simply hope that things will get better. Take Action! Know that the body has amazing healing abilities! You just have to work the right plan, feed your body what it needs, embrace the advesity, and keep a winning mindset.

If you are struggling to navigate the process, please reach out. With First Victory Coaching, you will learn to manage your mindset, nutrition, and physical training to come back stronger and more resilient than before 💪 by @firstvictorycoaching
