What a trip! Went down to TheRock for a third time to cover Karpathos Adventure Festival 2026 and for some bonus days of wingfoiling and hanging with the IonClub and Anemos gang and of course with my partner in (Surf)crime Harald 🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽
Thanks heaps @visitkarpathosisland @thalassasuites @anemos_karpathos and @ionclub_karpathos for bringing me! KAF2026 is a really nice approach to bring adventure & sports enthusiasts to karpathos and try out new sports and experience the hospitality and beautiful nature of the island…
And thanks sooo sooo much for the nice award!

After a (much too long) break from biking i finally found some time to clean up the hometrail. Its been so grown in that it took me full 3 days to get rid of all the foliage and weeds… Also my bike was in a pitful state, but thanks to the best mechanic @magic_danko its as good as new 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽… Had some good runs and can’t wait for indian summer now 😉

KWKAP - Karpathos Wing Kids Appreciation Post!
Its always a pleasure for me to capture young talents (Hintertux Opening Kids Shoot coming up again soon), but i rarely get the chance to shoot kids in other sports than snowboarding.
Didn’t have to ask the KWKs twice 😊 and they put on quite a show out in Devil’s Bay! Biiig probs, Greg, Lisa, Finn and Moritz! Can’t wait to see you again next summer… KEEEP ROCKING IT!!!

Wingfoiling was all time this summer, i’ve been on the water more than 45 days, as much as never before. Karpathos was delivering as usual with not a single day without wind. So i had plenty of time to try out my favourite @gopro mounts for my Max2 that i consider the top 5 in terms of usability and output angle/style. Some are easier to mount and ride with, some require a bit more mounting skills and a bit more care to ride with them...

Please note that all mounts also work with ‘normal’ action cams, however a 360 cam like the GoPro Max2 are way easier to use, since you are able to ‘overcapture’ the perfect angle afterwards and you don’t have to worry about the angle when mounting. The only crucial thing is to mount the 360 cam always in line with the mount/pole and never crooked, since the automatic stitching of the two lenses will eliminate a straight mount that is inline with the stitch line (important for the ‘pole’ mounts but also for the Nose Mount).

If you are considering to get a 360 cam, GoPro currently has its Max2 on a massive discount, check out their webshop, i think its around -40% (depending on which country you are buying it from).

So here are my 5 favourite GoPro 360 Mounts for Wingfoiling (in no oarticular order):

1. Bite Mount
2. Nose Mount
3. Leading Edge Extension
4. Strut Extension
5. Hip Belt Extension

Try to use a safety line for ANY mount, i’ve already lost a bunch of cams, especially tragic once they have some decent footy on them…

One additional advice (for all mounts except the Bite Mount): Get yourself a Bluetooth Remote & attach it to your watch or use a wriststrap (preferably on the opposite arm of your wing leash 😉) to start/stop recording…

Get a @theprostandard Grillmount and mount the Max2 UPWARDS / to the front, so you still can see over it, but have one of the two lenses facing forward.

This is THE original POV angle, its 100% how you see things, even when you are turning your head.

Easy to turn on/off since the buttons are within your reach. Use a small cord to have it hanging around your neck when not in use.

What a nice combo-day… Windsurf at noon, wingfoil in the afternoon! Used the @theprostandard GrillMount with the @gopro Max2, pretty dope combo and super easy to use.
Wind is building up again, we expect some big days comin'! Karpathos at its best, stay tuned!
