A couple of us scattered some of the ashes in the Botanics this afternoon. Was a fresh & sunny winter day, we picked a few pretty & meaningful spots we think he’d have loved, and sobbed unabashedly in front of confused-looking children and their alarmed parents (fairly certain it’s illegal to deposit remains without some sort of permit…)

Was helpful in reminding us of who he was and how he lived before the development of his disability. It’s too easy to remember his limitations and the suffering he faced at the end, rather than happier moments in which he was well and at peace with himself.

He was a faithful, kind & loving man who paid his dues and tried his best. A year on from losing him, we love him just as much, and I’d like to think he would’ve been content with what we did today. 🩶

For those who are unaware, our dad left us on Saturday the 4th January.

If you’re at all able, please consider donating to Action For Pulmonary Fibrosis, an organisation providing support for patients and their families, as well as fundraising for crucial further research. We still have a lot to learn about the prevention and treatment of this pernicious, irreversible disease.

Thank you: https://www.actionpf.org/get-involved/donate

Millennial women aren’t scared to get very drunk and dance like twats. The kids need to sort it out, they’re all dead behind the eyes… 🫩😅🥳

(Although, to be clear, the heavily pregnant, French lady was neither drunk, nor dancing like a twat, she’s always had sweet moves…) taken in Tramlines by @fish_biscuits
