📍SA CHAMPS 2026 - THE CHAMPIONS

We are so proud to have defended our title from 2025 nationals by winning the overall club title, overall club Surf Title and Junior Surf Title as well as claiming Senior Surf Title at Nationals this year🏆
The team showed complete dominance in all the age groups, our nippers, juniors, seniors and masters all coming together to bring the trophy back to our home club ❤️‍🔥
There were some incredible performances and there is no better feeling than competing with your fellow clubbies, having fun and racing at such a high level!
Some stand out performances include Shaylee Powell (u15), Sam Mocke (u17) and Ellen Strydom (u19) proving their skills and abilities by taking out the competitor of the competition awards🥇
Thank you to LSA and to everyone that made this champs possible! We can’t wait to be back next year 🩵🤍🖤

🇿🇦 #LWC2026 | Built by Purpose. Ready to Represent. | Alayah Krogscheepers

For Alayah Krogscheepers of @fishhoeksurf what began as a desire to learn new skills in the ocean became a community that helped her discover what she was capable of.

Alayah started lifesaving at 13, finding coaches and friends at Fish Hoek who challenged, encouraged and believed in her. That support, together with her own dedication, has helped shape the athlete she is becoming.

Her dedication earned her recognition as U15 Victrix Ludorum at the South African Lifesaving Championships. Alayah is a versatile water athlete, and also competes in long-distance surf ski and canoeing.

Now, at just 16, Alayah is preparing to represent South Africa for the first time at #LWC2026.

“It’s a dream come true, and it feels incredible. I’m excited to compete on the international stage, see all the different countries and do my best to represent South Africa well.”

From joining lifesaving at 13 to wearing the green and gold three years later, Alayah’s journey shows what can happen when dedication meets the support of people who believe in you. 🇿🇦

For Matthew Coetzer of @fishhoeksurf lifesaving has been part of his life from a young age, growing his love for the ocean and water sports along the way.

SURF LIFESAVING SZN IS HERE. 🌊

There’s something pretty cool about going back to where it all began.

The first ever Rescue Sport Series competition was held at Fish Hoek Beach in 2024. Highlights from this video showing just what a vibe it was. And two years later, we’re back to start our season in the Deep South.

For Jarryd Cole of @fishhoeksurf a love for lifesaving that began before the age of nine has grown into the honour of representing South Africa.

Since joining Fish Hoek, the sport has been a constant in Jarryd’s life - challenging him, keeping him active and teaching him the discipline, teamwork and commitment needed to keep progressing.

Now, he takes the next step as part of the South African National Lifesaving Team at #LWC2026.

“Representing my country is a huge honour, and I hope to continue improving and achieving my goals in lifesaving.”

For Jarryd, reaching the world stage isn’t the end goal. It’s another opportunity to grow, test himself and see where his commitment to the sport can take him next. 🇿🇦

RESCUE STORIES | FISH HOEK SURF LIFESAVING CLUB

When a real rescue happens, every second matters.

Holly Smith and Matthew Brading take us through a rescue involving Fish Hoek lifeguards, breaking down what happened, the actions taken and what it took to bring the patient safely to shore.

They also talk about the training they do to compete in the Rescue Sport Series, and how developing these skills through sport can help prepare lifeguards for real rescues.

And this is the connection at the heart of Rescue Sport Series:

The skills used to save lives in real rescues are the same skills lifeguards train, practise and race in rescue sport.

🇿🇦 #LWC2026 | Built by Purpose. Ready to Represent. | Nicola Harcus

For Nicola Harcus of @fishhoeksurf growth comes from knowing there is always more to learn and improve.

Nicola began lifesaving at 12 with @summerstrandsurf later moving to Woodridge and now Fish Hoek. Each club has played a part in shaping the athlete she is today.

Now in her second year studying to become a Chartered Accountant, Nicola balances her studies with training and competition - believing that staying fit and healthy helps her remain focused and productive.

This year marks her seventh time representing South Africa, and this time, she’ll do so as Captain of the Open Female Team on home soil.

“I could not be more excited to compete in our home country and show the world what South Africa has to offer! We have so many amazing athletes and so much potential in the sport. It just keeps getting better and better.”

Nicola’s journey is a reminder that growth never really stops - there is always another opportunity to learn, improve and lead by example.

Looking back on a great day of swimming at the annual Fish Hoek Mile, we had a record of 354 entries🤩 Thank you to everyone who was part of the action and to @swimcapetown for organising such a great event which is the biggest fundraiser for our club! Thank you to our sponsors who helped make this happen and for the awesome prizes that were awarded! Congratulations to @cliftonsurflifesaving for taking home the Lifesaving Club Trophy, with Jaydon Allott and Amica de Jager taking a clean sweep🔥 Thank you to @spurt_sa for the great event caps and to @capetownsportphotography for the stunning photos to help us relive what was an extremely exciting and successful day! And last but not least, thank you to our clubbie volunteers for making sure that everyone was safe and happy! We hope to see you all back at the club next year💥
