Untold Stories x Sounds Good present Kyoto-born, Berlin-based DJ and producer @alex__kassian. Known for his masterful fusion of early ‘90s trance, progressive house, and ambient textures, Kassian’s sets are a journey through time, evoking the euphoric spirit of classic dance music with a modern twist. His productions on respected labels such as @loveontherocks__ , Pinchy & Friends and Running Back have made him a staple in the electronic music scene, with tracks that balance lush, cinematic atmospheres with pulsating rhythms.

On opening duties is Untold Stories co-founder, faisalkon, who is a passionate curator of diverse sounds and finds purpose in cross-cultural collaboration. As the cofounder of collectives @sceneseriesto and @untoldstoriesto, he champions an eclectic set of artists. His sets blend infectious disco and Hi-NRG beats mixed with a treasure trove of his South Asian disco records, ensuring these sonic gems are both preserved and enjoyed.

Standard Time x Untold Stories presents Robert Hood, Zoi and faisalkon!

“I remember Isaac Hayes, the soundtrack from ‘Shaft’ had come out. My father was a jazz musician; he played piano, trumpet and drums. My mother was in an R’n’B group. We listened to a lot of Motown – in fact, my grandfather’s first cousin is Berry Gordy. “I was influenced by my father – I wanted to play trumpet like he did.” Robert’s father tragically died when he was just 6. The photo of Robert sitting down holding a trumpet is his fathers. ”I had to beg my grandmother to let me borrow the trumpet to take a picture with it”

Robert Hood needs little introduction. Founding member of the legendary group Underground Resistance as a ‘Minister Of Information’ with ‘Mad’ Mike Banks & Jeff Mills, his seminal works on Jeff Mill’s Axis and his very own M-Plant imprint paved the way for a wave of stripped-down dancefloor minimalism that directed much of techno’s path throughout the late Nineties.

Robert Hood makes minimal Detroit techno with an emphasis on soul and experimentation over flash and popularity.

Zoi is a Karachi born, Toronto based producer, DJ, and programmer. Zoi launched his music career as one half of Talal & Zoi (T&Z), a duo that gained traction in the electronic scene with releases featured on Dirtybird, Kindisch, Dantze, Moodfamily, Rawthentic Music and Traum Schallplatten. Zoi also invests himself in nurturing Toronto’s music scene through his collective Untold Stories and is also the Lead Programmer for an underground electronic music venue called Sub Division.

Toronto-based faisalkon, originally from Pakistan, is a passionate curator of diverse sounds who finds purpose in cross-cultural collaboration. As the cofounder of collectives Scene Series and Untold Stories, he champions an eclectic set of artists. His sets blend infectious disco and Hi-NRG beats mixed with a treasure trove of his South Asian disco records, ensuring these sonic gems are both preserved and enjoyed.

Be sure to tap in as we welcome back one of our favourite producers, @factamusic . He returns to Toronto with endless fresh and high-quality releases on labels like Idle Hands, Incienso, Livity Sound, and the renowned Wisdom Teeth which he co-founded with K-LONE.

Behind the decks, he’s known for his spring-loaded sets that move effortlessly through UK garage, club instrumentals, and leftfield electronics, a sound that has taken him to major festival stages including Gala, Lost Village, We Out Here, and most recently MUTEK.

We knew the vibe at @sans_soleil_mtl was going to be good, but that was next level. The crowd danced to literally everything we threw at them and having so many friends on the floor made it extra special.
