The Black Knight always triumphs!!! A good time was had by all revisiting @montypythonofficial and the Holy Grail on movie night and attending the @ctfaire on Saturday! Huge thanks and congratulations again to atelier extraordinaire @rebeccamacriart for all of her hard work over the last weeks on family regalia #rennaissancefestival #rennaissancefestival #turkeyleg #montypython #montypythonandtheholygrail by @fitnerdproject

First 4K’+ hike in a while last week and it was amazing! Perfect temperature, no rain, no bugs, and outstanding hiking hospitality from @jtetrault. Hoping to get up to New Hampshire and higher elevations more regularly in the next few years. Pairing the pics with a John Denver classic which was actually inspired by Massachusetts and Maryland. #fitnerdproject #johndenver #foliage #newhampshire #leaves by @fitnerdproject

Hitting many aspects of the @fitnerdproject this week with Thundercats!!! On the fitness front, it’s the final week of the bi-annual Brown step challenge. The team I’m on is currently in 3rd, but are bouncing back from some health challenges and hoping to finish in 2nd. I also need to highlight the original animated show which premiered in January of 1985. The quality of the animation, stories, and toys were absolutely legendary. I’m hoping to see the live action reboot that’s been getting kicked around for the last few years finally come together soon. Speaking of legends, I’m closing with a shoutout to bass virtuoso, singer, songwriter, producer, actor, and fellow nerd @thundercatmusic He has frequently referenced cartoons, movies, video games, fashion, and other artistic mediums in his work and also extols the virtues of “magnesium and hydration”. by @fitnerdproject

Belated anniversary post from Tuesday for @fitnerdproject. Celebrated 19 years of marriage with my lovely wife @rebeccamacriart and luckily we had a special dinner on Sunday because I was sick all week. The shirt this week is some deep lore from our first vacation. We were having a lazy day in Portland, Maine and couldn’t decide on an activity. We ended up buying 40s, putting them in a brown paper bag, and boozed in a park eating pretzels. A very inquisitive squirrel joined us for snacks 🥨 and was named “Clarence”. Since then, all squirrels around the world are referred to as “Clarence”. And at some point, we made shirts. Super excited to celebrate 20 years of marriage next fall, and for many more years of joy and happiness together. On the lifting front, luckily it was a deload day because I’m still moving pretty slow. If you see my wife soon, be sure to wish her a belated happy anniversary. by @fitnerdproject

49th birthday tomorrow & I’m sharing my first weekly post that will run through the end of the year about the intersection of weightlifting, nerd culture, film, music, TV, nostalgia, and vintage/retro graphic tees. @jtabtraining will be posting my latest lifts to stories each Monday/Tuesday, and I’ll be sharing them and posting a photo of the shirt I’m wearing with some related extra content. Culminating in some yet to be determined pieces being featured in my latest art show at the @warwickpubliclibrary in December. Starting the @fitnerdproject off with TRON. The first ever use of CGI in a film that I first watched in a hotel room at Disney World in 1983. My mind was instantly blown and I’ve been a huge fan ever since. I also got to go on Light Cycle Run in February 2024 and saw one of the original costumes at @mopopseattle in 2025. Check the fit on that Spiderman ringer as well! Closing the post with a shout out to Pawtucket native Wendy Carlos. Brown Class ‘62, who composed the original score for the first film and has been a quiet advocate for trans rights for almost 60 years. For the true nerds, what is your favorite TRON film? Answer Yes for the 1982 original, No for Tron Legacy 2010, or Tron Ares, 2025. by @fitnerdproject
