ROAD TO KHADAKWASLA ULTRA...

Train wherever you are...

Missed the HM I registered in Pune, but still ran the distance in Bengaluru.

Great weather in Bengaluru for the long run. Smooth open roads and light drizzle early on made the experience awesome.

And getting to see beautiful and colourful temples on the route was a real treat.

Saturday morning run to continue prepping for my upcoming runs:

@puneinternational

I started late today and for some reason the initial kms felt challenging, but kept pushing and finished my goal for today.

Today was tough. After yesterday's 6 km run, 5 km walk, and leg workout, my legs were already protesting when I told them it was interval training day.

Still, I headed out for 10 × 400m intervals. The start was rough, but I settled in and finished with a strong time.

Super happy with the effort.

Saturday’s long run was my longest one yet as I continue preparing for the upcoming @khadakwaslaultra in November. Training has been progressing well so far, and I’m hoping to stay consistent in the weeks ahead.

One thing this run reinforced is that long-distance training is about much more than just showing up and putting in the miles. Hydration, nutrition, pacing, and route planning all play a crucial role. I realised how an unplanned route can easily disrupt momentum and rhythm during a run, especially for these longer sessions.

Every run teaches something new, and this was definitely one of the key takeaways from this one.

Nevertheless, I’m happy with how the run went. I managed to finish in a good time, build confidence for the upcoming race, and enjoy passing through some of the city’s iconic spots along the way.

For fellow runners training for longer distances, what has been your biggest learning when it comes to planning and executing long runs? 🏃‍♂️💪
