We are incredibly humbled to announce that our film, “Driven,” has been selected for the 2026 Chicago Underground Film Festival.

Thank you to everyone who believed in this film, poured their time and energy into it, and helped turn this dream into a reality. We truly couldn’t have done it without you.

All-access passes are now available through the CUFF website, granting access to 100+ films, 50+ Q&As, 5+ after-parties, special events, and workshops.

If you can’t make it for the entire festival, tickets for the days “Driven” will be programmed—Saturday, 9/26, and Sunday, 9/27—are also available. You can find the link in my bio.

We can’t wait to share this one with you.

“Somewhere in Chicago there is a Dog that remembers the Stars and my Dad”

There isn’t a museum, nor a stadium, not even an ocean large enough to fit all the words I’d write to describe my father Tony Fitzpatrick, who was beloved by everyone he knew. He had a million best friends. I’ve always said that if my dad were a big cake, he’d want everyone in the world to have a slice. In the last twelve hours, maybe a thousand tributes have flooded in, all trying to paint who he was as an artist, as a man. It’s a feat that I wouldn’t dare attempt. So the best I can do is try to explain who he was as a father.
He was my best friend. As a little girl, my mother would dress me up every Sunday and he’d take me to the theater, then dinner afterwards. At eight years old he would pick my brain about what I thought of the actors’ performances. Then we’d talk about his art. The news. The movies. The mayor. The war on terror. He expected me to have a cogent opinion on everything under the sun despite my young age. And so I did.
When I was a teenager I was in trouble all the time. With everyone except for him. I could do no wrong in his eyes. I swore, spat, smoked, and shoplifted, but I was still his shining star. When I was supposed to be grounded, he’d take me out to dinner anyway. We would sit and come up with haikus on bar napkins. To him, I was perfect.
Dad: I have never felt alone in this life, because I have always had you. And what I brought myself to realize yesterday is that I always will have you. I will never lose you. I will miss you like hell. I will wonder how you’re liking that great other place you’ve passed over to. What the food’s like. Who your new friends are. But I will never lose you. And you and I will always be two inextricably linked parts of this great big world. They say that grief is just love without a home. I love you so much. Thank you for being the best father, and thank you for being my best friend. I know we will dine and dance again someday. by @fitzieeeeee

We were at a bit of a loss for words when we discovered that Driven had sold out on Saturday and Sunday. But then we learned that @chicagoundergroundfilmfest has added an additional screening of Driven and The Fair on Thursday, 9/24, at 7:30 p.m. and we honestly couldn’t believe it.

You will find a link to the additional screening in my bio. Get your tickets now, as they’re moving fast!

We’re also incredibly honored to share a screen with filmmaker Ines Sommer. The Fair will screen immediately after Driven.

“Livestock competitions, beauty pageants, pig chases, craft judging, choreographed displays of labor, gender, discipline, and belonging. Set within the annual rhythms of a Midwestern county fair, Ines Sommer’s quietly incisive documentary approaches rural American life as living ritual, not as political shorthand or nostalgic Americana, but as a complex system of performance, tradition, spectacle, and social inheritance.”

We’re so excited to share our work with you all and, once again, deeply humbled by the response to Driven. Thank you for showing up for this film.

I want to give a BIG THANK YOU to everyone who showed up to The Metro Chicago yesterday. I want to give my biggest thanks to Joe Shanahan for putting this lovely event together. Everything from the production to the staff working the event was flawless. Getting to celebrate in A place like the Metro was a pleasure and privilege that I will never forget. Forever grateful and blessed to call Joe family. We were twins on that stage.
I cannot say enough about the lovely words from Joe, Marc Smith, Brigid Murphy, John Hogan, Donnie Madia, Alex Kolowitz, David Bonomi, Mark Turcotte, Rick Kogan and my Uncle Jim Fitzpatrick.
I cannot say enough about the beautiful music performances by Frank Catalano and Ike Reilly... They are great musicians and even better friends.
Also a huge shout out and thank you to Chris Keogh who put together the Steppenwolf Memorial which was so intimate, organic and powerful. Thank you Chris for being such an amazing advocate and one of his best friends.
This is how you celebrate life.
It is my Dad’s Birthday. I never thought about this day without him. I made a video for him for his memorial. I think it captures his personality and who he really was... I feel the need to share it for everyone today.
Happy Birthday Dad, wherever you are save me a seat.
Love,
