Am I… Japanese now????

(the timeline of the videos are inaccurate, just a representation of my Japan journey over the 8 years)

18 year old me has come a long way from learning how to eat everything with chopsticks to the language and the culture. A memory came up of this red bean paste daifuku and I posted a year ago today about how much I love red bean now and how much I hated it when I first came here😂

I’ve learnt a lot being in Japan, my taste buds have also clearly learnt a lot. I started coming to Japan purely for my job and the snow for only a 1/3 of the year but many things have grown on me over the time

When covid happened Japan was the only place I could travel to and work (other than the UK) so I did, and if that hadn’t of happened I probably would’ve explored Europe or Canada and wouldn’t have such a deep love for Japan. It feels like home now yet I still learn new things often. The butterfly effect. 🦋

Anyone else’s tastebuds changed after moving country? 🇬🇧 🇯🇵

it’s been 1 year since I made this reel and anxiety is quite rare for me these days <3

Things I’ve realised / help me :
⭐️ delete toxic people from your life, if they drain you because you’re pouring your positivity into them it’s not worth it
⭐️ going to things anyway if you have the capacity bcos it’s the only way to squash the fear and your brain will start to replace fears with good memories
⭐️ people are much nicer than you think majority of the time all over the world
⭐️ music + water on trains or public transport
⭐️ keeping life busy even if my plan is a self care skincare chill night, leaves less time for overthinking
⭐️ girls nights are so important
⭐️ move your body, dance, jump around, ski, whatever
⭐️ set a task, complete it (sounds simple but something I struggled with which heightened my anxiety)
⭐️ SELF CARE - shower, hair, makeup, skin, food, look after yourself as if you are looking after someone you love
⭐️ mindset work, I’ve been doing this for a long time but actively working on it has been intermittent, there’s a lot of great YouTube videos out there
⭐️ talk to your friends, more often than not they’ve probably been through or felt similar <3

The more you practice these everyday, even if you don’t believe it or it feels forced, the closer you are to really becoming it

shoutout to @mtnmemories for bringing together a bunch of humans that are like actual sunshine and hosting such a warm event 🫶

We create our own realities, and while I absolutely do NOT think anxiety is something that’s chosen or easy to fix I think we have choices wether to sit and accept it or give anything else a go to feel better💛

I’ve been debating posting this…

I’ve set myself a challenge to get to Japan for my best friends wedding next month and I want to do this by making extra income online outside of my jobs irl

I thought it’s important to share every piece of this journey with you so firstly a HUGE thank you to Megan I am so grateful you’re the first part of my journey to reaching this dream!💫🥹🫂

I want to be clear though that I am going to earn the funds through extra work such as creating content for brands UGC and online platforms etc. As much as this is SO kind, I want you all to keep your well earned money and the only way to support me is through engaging with my content 💛
