Daughters

Wonder kid last night
Lovely doelings
Dove and Dharma

Got dang.

My mother
in pajamas
helps them suckle

The big mare watches
Over wavy fence

The donkey paces
Let us see

The gelding eats pine needles
Offaways

Time dozes

I marvel at velvet
Freshness
snugged in the corner

I try to decipher messages he sends

I give thanks

I sit deeper in the pine shavings
Deeper in the peaceful reality
Of a sun laced birthing shed

I pat Wonder
Give her a pretzel
Good girl

Lovely Daughters

I may never have my own

Pie…
I couldn’t get time up for so long after you left.
But this thirty days is for you, little girl.
I miss you and love you always.

1 month, ya’ll. xx

I pray wherever you are, you know the love of a good dog, many times over.

@angyocum.. thank you for capturing us this night. My very favourite photos of us. taken in Five Hammocks Farm by @fivehammocksfarm

FRCoven tings. 🔮🐈‍⬛

Thriving here.
Grateful as.
Leading meetings and meditation circles.
Tending my brachiosaurus forest.
Enjoying ample gifts of recovery.
And of course, glitter. And my girls.

I hope wherever you are, you are practicing connection. 👯‍♀️ taken in UF Health Florida Recovery Center by @fivehammocksfarm

Deep retreat at FRC.
We do recover. 🕊️

Brought some of that rich farm dirt along on those headphones. Old Florida Flora. A plant cutting named May. And what I thought were must haves. 🤍

Loving ya’ll. 🤍

I hope wherever you are, your heart is healing. 🤍 by @fivehammocksfarm

Daily Donk Devotional

The first week we’ve kept to Things that Spark Joy.. or what I Ass-ume sparks joy..

Alfalfa, a few carrots.

I allow the jacks to “feel,” my hands where they are comfortable (usually their muzzles, slowly working towards their cheeks).. And am delighted when Dolly lets me dote on her. I keep watching her sides to see signs of baby and interestingly, she allows her belly to be scratched and talked to— Though I might just be talking to a sassy, fat donkey’s side.

Either way, we all slowly learn the language of trust.

More soon.

I hope wherever you are, communication is gentle today.

And a Thanks to my old friend, @kylekellersongs, for the tune. taken in Five Hammocks Farm by @fivehammocksfarm

•Dolly 💝💝💝, Cousin Dwight, and Poquito.
•A three hibiscus kinda day.
•Deciding if using AI photo editing is out of my ethical hula hoop. But my that’s a pretty shrimp and new Java moss.
•If THE PIG is on the table; there is a puppy in the house.
•Nacho “making friends.”
•Patou! And the aframe. Come camp and meet him!

I hope where-ever you are, you are having a three hibiscus kinda day, too. 🌺🌺🌺

The dance with feral donks continues.

My back hurts, but my heart keeps open.

Sweat dapples beneath my breasts.
My underwear is soaked straight through.
(The soggy, perhaps unsexy, truths of swamplands, served here.)

Late August sun forces

Softness. Surrender.
“Poquito,” pauses.

I set with the small herd
Sinking into subtleties.

Slow. Steady.

A lot of silly. (w/donks)

We sway and sweat and talk and bray.

A proper way to melt through the last offenses of southern summer… with FHF’s new “Patou.” A plenty polite and perfect pup. @lfyocum @tim_yocum

Getting to know sport ponies. Privilege to meet these four animals this week. Thanks, @zingzer for the foal medicine and so many congrats on your new, charming Charlie.

I hope wherever you are, you are getting photobombed by cute creatures seeking scritches. 💞 taken in Reddick, Florida by @fivehammocksfarm
