Sitting at the beautiful green marbled counter @fives.bar is such a unique experience in the heart of the French Quarter. I truly feel transported to a bistro in Europe every time I belly up to the bar.

The drinks are banging and the food fantastic. Take the Tuna Crudo. Tuna is dressed in a savory shoyu marinade and paired with creamy avocado, spicy serrano, bright grapefruit, fresh cilantro, and a crunchy finish of fried garlic and shallots.

Every bite delivers an incredible balance of citrus, heat, umami, and texture. It's light, refreshing, and absolutely delicious. If you're dining at Fives, don't skip this one.

Introducing The Pinnacle Guide’s A - Z of featured bars. Fives Raw Bar, 1 PIN.

This 40-seat raw bar in New Orleans’ 1851 Pontalba Building is named after a five-pack of cigars and built around a concealed draft cocktail system. Areas of particular excellence include its Hospitality, Design, Staff Wellbeing, and their work Behind the Scenes.

Fives Raw Bar sits in the Lower Pontalba Building on St Ann Street, a National Historic Landmark completed in 1851 and among the oldest apartment buildings in the United States.

A custom tap tower with eight unmarked handles serves three draft beers and five draft cocktails, with glycol-chilled lines running 25 feet to a keg cooler camouflaged as ordinary cabinetry.

One of the bar’s bartenders is also an oyster farmer in Grand Isle, and several local oysters and ingredients arrive hand-delivered by the people who produce them.

Music is managed through SPECTRE, a Paris-based bespoke curation service that adjusts playlists to suit the mood and pace of service throughout the day, with a dedicated programme for Mardi Gras and carnival season.

The 5’s is launching their Planteray Single Cask Rum in true style!

This Trinidad Rum has been aged 3 years in Bourbon barrels, 5 years in Cognac Cask (that’s a lot of Continental aging, but 5’s. Right?) and an additional 10 months in Armarik French Single Malt casks. It’s as unique as the house that’s featuring it, and the only place in NOLA you can find it!!

the layout is my favorite. picture this: we’re all strangers, shoulder to shoulder, sitting together around an oval bar that’s basically the size of the entire place. the mixologists are running the show right in the middle. calm, collective and quietly doing their thing but don’t feel the need to prove it (if you know what i mean)

hands down the best raw oysters in the city. some briny, some sweet. cold, clean and fresh. every. single. time. and dangerously easy to keep ordering, making you forget what your original plans were. the added bumps of caviar are so decadent and so worth it

this is your sign to sit at the bar, talk to someone you weren’t planning on talking to and let new orleans do the rest

(also the le labo hand soap / hand cream combo in their restroom is just so elite. i don’t know who approved that budget but thank you)
