🚴‍♂️ What does it REALLY take to become a pro cyclist?

We asked three riders who know exactly what it takes - @florian_vermeersch @mikkel_bjerg98 and @thetourofbritain winner @tim.wellens 🏆 and their answers were honest, inspiring and full of lessons for the next generation. 👊

A huge thank you to Mikkel, Florian & Tim for taking the time to share your advice and experience with the riders coming through behind you.

At The Fizz Fund, we believe talent shouldn’t be held back by the cost of getting to the start line.

That’s why we’re already helping fund 10%+ of junior riders, giving young cyclists the opportunity to race, develop and chase their dreams 🚴

And this is just the beginning.
Follow our journey as we work to support the next generation of professional cyclists. 💙

🚴‍♂️ THE FIZZ FUND - TURNING KIT INTO START LINES. 🍾
It really is that simple.

We buy pro cycling kit and turn it into race entries and funding for the next generation of riders, helping more young cyclists get the opportunity to pin on a number, get to the start line and chase their goals.

We believe great kit should do more than hang in a wardrobe. It can help create opportunities.

❤️ THANK YOU, FIZZ FUND COMMUNITY!

The Fizz Fund simply wouldn’t be possible without the people who believe in what we’re trying to build.

Since launching, we’ve been going from strength to strength and that’s because of 🫵🏻 The parents, the riders, the non-riders, the supporters, the friends, the families, and everyone who has shared a post, hit like, followed along, told someone about us, or simply believed in our mission.

We’re on a journey, and we want you to be part of it 🚀

The more people who share, like, follow and spread the word, the more opportunities we can create, and the bigger difference we can make to the British cycling scene.

Every share helps us reach someone new.
Every follow helps grow our community.
Every bit of support helps us keep moving forward.

So, from the bottom of our hearts… Thank you!

We’re incredibly excited about what’s ahead, and we can’t wait to bring you along for the ride.

This is only the beginning 🚴💨

🚴‍♀️ We can’t help with the endless hours of training… but we can help with the funding! 💪🏼

At Fizz Fund, our mission is simple: help as many junior riders as possible get to the start line by providing guidance, support and funding along the way.

The more riders we can support on their journey, the more opportunities we have to help make their ambitions a reality. 🌟

Earlier this season, we were lucky enough to catch up with Peggy Knox, one of the riders we’ve supported, at the British National Road Championships 🇬🇧🏆

Peggy, thanks for taking the time to chat with us, it was fantastic to meet you and hear more about your journey. Wishing you all the best for the future! 👊🏼

🚴‍♂️ The Tour of Britain does something pretty special…
It brings people out who don’t even ride bikes. Families, friends, communities, complete cycling novices - all lining the roads to watch, cheer and be part of something bigger.
That’s the community we want to build. ❤️

Our mission is simple: help fund as many junior riders as possible and get them to the start line.

We want to build a strong community around these young riders - one made up of riders, families, supporters and people who simply believe in giving the next generation a chance.

And you can be part of it.

Every interaction helps us reach more people, grow our community and, ultimately, help more junior riders get on the start line.

Because sometimes, just like the Tour of Britain, it starts with someone stopping to watch.

Let’s get behind the next generation. 🚴‍♀️🚴‍♂️

More riders. More opportunity. Stronger community.

🚴‍♂️ “Take care of yourself.” “Be autistic.” “Go full gas.”

Three legends. Three unforgettable messages. 👂🔥

A brilliant catch-up with @mikkel_bjerg98 , @florian_vermeersch and Tour of Britain winner @tim.wellens after Stage 3 of the Tour of Britain.

When these guys speak, you listen. 👊

A massive congratulations to Tim and @uae_team_emirates on the victory! 🏆🇬🇧

We’re The Fizz Fund, here to support and inspire the next generation of junior cyclists, helping young riders chase their dreams and develop through the sport we love. 🚴‍♀️🚴‍♂️

🚴‍♂️ One tip for the next generation? FUN.
Yes, becoming a professional cyclist takes huge amounts of work, dedication and sacrifice… but when we asked professional cyclist Riley for his number one piece of advice to the next generation, his answer was simple:
“You need to be having fun 85% of the time.” 🙌
Because if you’re enjoying the riding, loving the racing and having fun along the way… you’re already on the right track.
And if that’s the case? You’ll make it. 💪🔥
Great catching up with @rileypickrell after the Tour de Britain and hearing his perspective on what it takes to make it to the top.
