This edition of Flowers is a special one..

Had the pleasure of seeing the one and only Miss Sinead Harnett live at Blue Note in London last night.

I think the first time I come across the music of an artist of this calibre, it always holds a special place in my heart - it happened with Teedra's Be Your Girl, Jhené's The Worst, NAO's Fool To Love, and I still remember vividly what I was going through in life when I stumbled upon this diamond from her incredible 4-track self-titled EP a whole decade ago.

She continues to outdo herself with every project - Boundaries was such a strong body of work conceptually, sonically, lyrically..and it's always a nice problem to have when you can't decide which of an artist's songs is your favourite.

I could have posted Body, or Stay, or Where You Been Hiding (fun fact: a big inspiration behind FJ - Still Searching), and I probably still will post the clip from last night's phenomenal version of Be The One over Aaliyah's Are You That Somebody beat (and shout-out @col3trane too for the cameo) but for me, this will forever be my favourite Sinead. Only right I select this one as I give her her much-deserved Flowers (Live Edition).

Until the next one,

Thinking of starting a little series on my IG of some of my favourite artists' most underrated verses and tracks.

Might call it Flowers.

So far, other than my own Therapoetry, I've covered:

Kevin Cossom - Love in September
Asher Roth - I'm Beamin' (Remix)
Sway - Top Boy cypher
Little Simz - Flowers feat. Michael Kiwanuka (Jools Holland version)

Next up is one of my faves from the one and only Scorcher aka The Winner. Love when he gets in his introspective bag naturally, the realest of lyrics and a classic sample on production.

Was tough to pick between this one and Last Night in Edmonton, but this is him at his very best in my humble opinion.

Will also be sharing some of my fave footage from concerts I've attended over the years so stay tuned. by @fj89official

Reminder to myself first:

Give the people you love, care for and appreciate their flowers while you can.

Ramadan's around the corner fam I need to repent
Cos if I get a little visit from the angel of death
And drop dead and I ain't in a state of submission then the Lord is my witness:
That'll be my BIGGEST regret..
