Brynn Throop was nominated by @fullertonunionhs Theatre Teacher Jaclyn Stickel who stated, "In our production of SIX [The Musical], I have watched Brynn absolutely transform. Her confidence and skills as a performer have grown immensely, and I can see so vividly how her growth through this production has translated into her other artistic performance work".

Reflecting on her passion, Brynn shared that "Art is my way of expressing myself and communicating my passion.".

Julissa Castillo was nominated by @la_habra_hs Visual Arts Teacher Aubrey Aho who stated, "Julissa is a bright young artist who has already developed a strong personal aesthetic that is paired with great technical skill. She is eager to learn and committed to growing as an artist not only this year but in her next chapter after she graduates".

Reflecting on her passion, Julissa shared that she knew the power of the arts at "4 years old. I was founded by the bright colors I mixed together, when painting. I also enjoyed making animals out of paper, finger painting, and being able to make anything that came to my mind. Doing arts and crafts became one of my most favorite things to do in school or anywhere, as it made me feel motivated to have the freedom to create and have an imagination, that helps me see and understand the world, much better. "

OCTOBER SPOTLIGHT: BREAKING BOUNDARIES THROUGH ART: HOW A LA VISTA SENIOR IS REDEFINING STUDENT ACHIEVEMENT

or La Vista School senior Alexys Guerra, art isn’t just a personal passion. It is a platform for self expression, leadership, and problem solving. His selection to the National FFA Band reflects years of dedication to his craft and shows what students can accomplish when given creative freedom.

"Art is my way of showing my worth, my abilities, strengths, weaknesses, and dedication to work," Alexys explains. "When people see or hear my work, I want them to have a new perspective on what students can achieve without limitations."

Beyond his own achievements, Alexys finds inspiration in helping his peers succeed, using his growth as a communicator to uplift those around him.
He credits his artistic training with reshaping how he approaches challenges, proving that complex problems always have creative solutions.

For younger students hesitant to step into the arts, Alexys offers reassuring advice:

"Don't worry about other people judging your work—focus on yourself and finding your people."
