field notes (“stuff I’m learning”) [01]

1. what if I let everybody down?

this passion proj with @joesookias took six months to edit. it was falling flat, I couldn’t see myself in the project. I passed it on to someone else, took it back, ripped it up, started again. I didn’t want to let my friends down, thought maybe I wasn’t cut out for this. sometimes you gotta tear it down to build it better 🤝

2. chase the feeling, trust the process

I made a new timeline and poured my lil heart out. trust the people you’re working with, trust yourself, trust your instincts. articulate what you do and don’t like, get specific. what makes a project yours and unique. personal projects give you the privilege of creative control, so use it. you got this tho

3. it’s all in the details

most people don’t notice. but every detail is a brick for the house you’re building, it makes a home for your work. and it’s such a joy to do!!

HOME IS ALWAYS WITH YOU part ii

part two of my heart on my sleeve!!
my friends showed up for this one
🥺🫶🏻💌

— how can I tell stories when I am so far from myself?
— I was always getting over something.
— everything I wanted, I found it in you.
— (home)
— I love you in every language.
— what came first and what comes next?
— HOME IS ALWAYS WITH YOU.
