There are few things sweeter in life than spending 18 months building matching cars with your best friend, taking them to the track on a sunny day, and hitting that very first tandem lap immediately with no warm up after years out of the driver seat.

Plan. Build. Execute. Smile (a lot)

Drifting cars is in my DNA now and I don’t think I’ll ever be able to stop.

I really had no idea what I was doing when I started this project. I bought a $900 1989 Softail with 5600 original miles that was partially disassembled, from a widow who’s husband went from diagnosed to killed by cancer in only 8 months. I sold parts off it for my $900 back, and then started buying shit and mocking shit up, 90% of which got discarded or posted back onto marketplace.

Through enormous amounts of trial and error, this motorcycle is finally beginning to resemble what I had imagined in my mind’s eye in the beginning.

Huge thanks to @summerscycleco for helping me with the fabrication work, @newchurchmoto for the amazing seat, and @flowershopcoatings for putting that sweet champagne metallic on the tank and fender.

Originally I had planned to build a rigid chopper but when I got this bike just covered in rare, discontinued billet parts, I decided to just let this bike become what it wants to become while retaining a little bit of its original identity. Now it’s this weird chopper inspired, kinda Daytona beach bike with multiple personalities 😂

All that’s left on this thing is wiring, running a clutch cable, setting up the throttle, and bleeding the brake.

E36 triple drift 🩶💚🖤 The S52 swap exceeded my expectations and was an absolute joy to drive. I was expecting to get dusted in the chase position behind @mcrobertson17 and @darrin.af’s 400+ HP turbo engines but I stayed close just fine. Excited for more of this. When I met Wyatt, he lived in Texas and we had both “quit drifting”, we were not sober, and we used to just sit on FaceTime for up to 12 hours sometimes hanging out and going about our days, thousands of miles away 😂 He moved to Portland with no money and no plan during the darkest time of my life and our friendship was tested in unimaginable ways.

About 2 years ago, we decided to get sober and start figuring our lives out, and while most of the friendships you create in the world of partying and nightlife disappear when you stop participating, ours didn’t. We got our lives together and collectively made the decision together to get some E36 BMW’s, build them, and go drifting. That was about a year ago at this point, and on my 18-month sobriety birthday this weekend, we got to fit this car with a whole bunch of aero together.

We both followed through and he’s got a @obsessworldwide branded box in my kitchen with a full livery that we’ll be installing in two weeks.

Congrats dude. Honored to get to bolt parts onto this thing with you and be washed up sober bois with stickered up old BMW’s.

He has no social media - I threw him the keys to the @uh.oh IG, so go follow that account if you want to see more pics of this thing develop this summer. Exciting stuff 🥰 by @fkaitemb
