l’ve been a little quiet here recently . . .

Running Flamazing Bakes has been an incredible journey however, the balance of family life was beginning to slip away.

Before flour, sugar and butter took over, we loved growing our own fruit and veg to create nutritious family meals to enjoy together. As the business grew, the veg beds became bare and family mealtimes became rushed and less healthy. The children joined me in the kitchen less. I rarely ventured outdoors and found myself living a hermit like lifestyle which wasn’t what I wanted for myself or my family.

I hardly recognised myself anymore. So I took a step back.

I swapped spending every spare moment on social media for sowing seeds with my daughter, nurtured our vegetable patch back to life and rediscovered the things that made me happiest.

Seeing the fruits (and veg) of our labour has been so rewarding (if a little challenging through multiple heatwaves) and I’m now feeling refreshed, inspired and EXCITED for what’s next.

Don’t worry, Flamazing Bakes isn’t going anywhere!

It’s simply growing into its next chapter, one that combines everything I love: baking, growing, cooking and creating joyful family memories around food and I’d love for you to join me!

One of the things I’ve missed most is creating recipes, especially with fresh, seasonal produce. I LOVE cooking and experimenting with different foods and flavours. So, as part of this new chapter, I’ll be sharing more of my recipes. Some will be completely free, while others will be available to buy, giving you the chance to create something Flamazing for your family, too!

I’ll still be offering celebration cakes for my lovely, loyal customers and seasonal treats where my schedule allows. Bookings will be limited to help protect the balance I’ve strived to restore, so please book well in advance to avoid disappointment.

My garden doesn’t just give me food to feed my family, but beautiful flowers to enjoy, too!

It was certainly a labour of love, keeping the Dahlias thriving throughout multiple heatwaves and the hosepipe ban this year. I was repeatedly up and down the stairs with 14 litres of bath water at a time, trying not to drench the house on my way out to the garden! 🙈 💦 🌺

Do you grow any fruit, vegetables or flowers in your garden, or allotment? I’d love to know what you’ve been growing!

Good evening,

What a lovely weekend it’s been! I hope you’ve managed to get outside and enjoy a bit of sunshine?🌞

I’ve enjoyed getting a few jobs ticked off in the greenhouse today and I’m looking forward to spending some time in the kitchen tomorrow, baking with one of my very own homegrown pumpkins! 🎃🧡

One of the things I love most about baking is the opportunity to continuously learn new skills and what better to learn than with my fellow @bakingbossesuk buddies, @sweet_carolines_bakehouse and @lous.kitchen as we attended Janice @the_botanical_bakeshop’s very first floral cupcake class in Dorset yesterday!

Lots of news skills learned and plenty of laughter along the way! Janice is a brilliant and very patient teacher and I’d highly recommend her classes.
