The Jimmy C Street Art Tour has won Best Workshops and Talks event at the 2026 Adelaide Fringe!

We have always been grateful for recognition as Weekly Award winners, but to be given an overall @adlfringe award is really humbling.

Winners don't get to make speeches on the day, so we just want to say a few words here:

This tour was created as a tribute to @akajimmyc's inspiring work, and to get locals seeing Adelaide's streets through a different lens. Across the year we run this as the now-extended Paint and Palate tour, but brought it back in original form for Fringe in 2025. Jimmy was once a Fringe Ambassador, so his story and works fit within the festival sphere.

This is as much Jimmy's award as ours. His openness to share information, and being OK with us sharing it on his behalf, gives us the confidence to create authentic storytelling and we're so grateful.

We also acknowledge others who add to this story, such as @order55 and Elizabeth Close, who sadly passed this month.

And big thanks to the Fringe team, and judges who came to see what we do. We're glad you loved it! by @flamboyancetours

Highly Commended at a national level for Cultural Tourism.

Wow. We've been recognised for our efforts by the Australian Tourism Awards, getting the commendation for our awards submission!

This is given to selected finalists that didn't medal but still scored highly. It was a great night in Fremantle, and you can see who Flamboyance was up against - some amazing operators and attractions!

We're so grateful, and it's a reminder that small businesses can achieve great things. We are a growing team of amazing guides who are passionate about Adelaide's stories. And this will push us to go further and be bolder in creating cultural experiences that encapsulate what Adelaide is as a vibrant city. by @flamboyancetours

The last two weeks have truly been a whirlwind.

To say I was shocked to win the Cultural Tourism category at the @satourism_awards is an understatement. I felt unequipped to express what I felt in the moment, which is not a normal thing for me - after all, talking is at the core of what I do for a living. So it's been good to take the time to reflect on just what this means for me/Flamboyance Tours.

Having Andrea, my ever-reliable guide, with me (alongside my loved ones) was really special. The last two years have been nothing short of brilliant with her knowledge and initiative adding to what we offer. And as I move forward with expanding the Flamboyance team further, I know that sharing Adelaide's culture through storytelling comes best from unique, local voices.

There's a lot of hard work that goes into an awards submission, but for a micro-business like Flamboyance it provides an honest assessment of where things are at. It helps me to know what I'm doing right, and reminds me of how I can tweak elements of our offerings to make them stand out even more.

A 30-second speech doesn't allow you to express much, and I have so many people to thank:
- The sponsor for the category - @satourismcommission (and Chair David Koch)
- The @tic_southaustralia team for their tireless efforts in assisting in the submission process and making this a great event
- My awards mentor @molly_dobbins. I learnt a long time ago there's no harm in asking for help, and her positive guidance was key to my writing process
- And all of you who have supported Flamboyance over the years - my gratitude remains overflowing

Flamboyance Tours will proudly represent South Australia at the Australian Tourism Awards in Fremantle in March 2026. Keep your fingers crossed for us!

Our tour of @adelaidearcade is back! We love sharing the arcade's stories and we've always hoped it could become a regular offering.

It returns on Monday 16 November and we're bringing it back once a month between Mondays and Saturdays. Think elegant history, fascinating architecture and yes, a few ghost stories too.

We hope to see you on tour, you can book through our bio link!

THURSDAY THROWBACK!

When Jane was in training earlier this year for our Welcome to Adelaide tour, she bumped into some of the lovely @cityofadelaide volunteers.

How could she resist telling them all there is to know about the sculpture A Day Out? Or as it's more affectionately known, the @rundlemall Pigs.

The Flamboyance name being spread across the world 🥳

We're so excited to highlighted in an article in the Miami Herald and a Malaysian Airlines feature! Journalists have loved coming on tour with us to see how we share stories in this part of the globe.

Absolutely devastated to see my favourite restaurant miss out on the big prize. Don't forget this hidden gem when you're checking out the winners. #michelinstar #michelin #tourguide #safoodie #satourism by @flamboyancetours

South Australia has its first Michelin-starred restaurants. It's so exciting for us as we know how much these accolades will bring curious foodies from around the world to us.

Have you been to any of these restaurants? Leave a comment - we want to know!

We are 2026 @satourism_awards finalists!

It's been what feels like a loooooong wait for this announcement, but we're excited to reveal that we're a finalist in TWO categories this year!

We are hoping for back-to-back wins in CULTURAL TOURISM after our first Gold win in 2025, while we are also a finalist in EXCELLENCE IN FOOD TOURISM.

The awards are announced in November and we can't wait! by @flamboyancetours

It's well known that @adelaidearcade is haunted, but what happened to make it so?

The story of ghost Francis Cluney is one of many in the shopping precinct, and Katina delves into the tale here.

We talk about this and more on our Welcome to Adelaide Walking Tour and Iconic Adelaide Walking Tour!
