Ayyye!!! Elated to announce that I am now full-time faculty—yep, Assistant Professor (just means I’m the new guy 😂)—at Concordia University Irvine, Christ College!!!

This is a surreal stage of development for me. Throughout the entire span of my music career, I have also been a student, with the goal in mind of one day becoming a college professor.

Welp, by God’s might and mercy, here we are!!! Thank You, LORD. You are kind, truly.

Happy to add a new vocation alongside being an active recording artist among a few other whatnots, ha.

Unplug a clock, and it defaults to 12. Unplug from the Gospel, and you default to relying on the Law—or your spiritual growth, good works, sincerity, testimony, intense praise and worship, or even your sanctification—for salvation or assurance of it.

And if you rely on any of these things for your righteousness before God, you’ve returned to the Law. And if you seek to be justified by the Law, you must keep the whole Law. If that’s your approach to God, the Bible says you are severed from Christ, have fallen away from grace, and are under a curse.

Stay plugged into the Gospel! Stay plugged into Jesus Christ, the second person of the Holy Trinity, the God-man!

The Gospel is the forgiveness of sins won for you by Jesus Christ through His death and resurrection, and delivered to you through His appointed means of grace: the preached Word, Holy Baptism, and the Lord’s Supper. By faith, trust and receive.

Stay plugged into Christ, where forgiveness, life, and salvation are freely given.

Theology must not be treated like a sport, it has real consequences when it goes wrong.

Those who treat it as an arena for waxing eloquent should take a field trip to where bad theology lives and witness its grim impact on real people. Sound teaching is meant to clear the way: alleviating burdens and bringing comfort to troubled consciences through God’s Word and Sacraments, according to our Savior, Jesus Christ. by @flame314

Such a special experience celebrating 50 years of God’s faithfulness to Concordia University Irvine, made even sweeter with my lovely wife by my side! 😍🙏🏾

Seeing the history come to life through old footage, pictures, and stories was incredibly encouraging! A beautiful reminder of all the good God has done through this university over the years.

Grateful to now be part of that story. Honoring the legacy of those who came before us, looking forward to what God has in store for the next 50 years, and thankful for the opportunity to contribute to the work He is continuing to do here!
