This afternoon @flamingxrose and I spent some time experimenting with different lighting setups. Can you figure out how we lit this? How many lights do you think we used?

Aside from a bit of exposure tuning in Lightroom, this image is straight out of camera. I didn’t add the black areas in post; I had her wrap her hand around one edge to make that more obvious.

#michiganmodel #michiganphotographer #grandrapidsmi #rockfordmi #vflat A woman with long silver-lavender hair stands in a narrow vertical strip of bright white light between two black panels, one hand resting on the edge of the left panel. She wears a black strappy bralette and dark gray denim shorts. Blackwork tattoos cover her torso, including a three-headed snarling dog in spiked collars across her stomach and a dagger down her sternum, with more on her neck, chest, thighs, and hand. She has facial piercings and looks at the camera with her head tilted and lips slightly parted. taken in Rockford, Michigan by @flamingxrose

SURVIVAL IS JUST THE BEGINNING.

1 In 3 women have experienced sexual violence, physical violence, and/or stalking by a partner during their lifetime. It takes our away our strength, voice, body, confidence, and so much more. Survival is just the first step. Only 20%-30% of cases are reported. Women have to be just as cautious in their own home as they would be alone at a bar. A large majority of violent offenders are the people closest to us in our lives. WOMEN NEED WOMEN. Help them speak. No one deserves to carry that pain.
You are never alone💜.
