London friends: join us tomorrow, 6 October, for Metamerism 2026 at the London Film School.

FSI’s Bram Desmet will host the afternoon and present an introduction to metamerism as colour scientists, colourists, and filmmakers explore what it means for the image from capture to cinema.

The programme runs from 1–6 p.m., followed by networking drinks. We hope to see you there!

🖥️ MEET THE HOST: Bram Desmet

When two displays are technically calibrated, why can they still look different?

It’s a challenge Bram Desmet has spent years working to understand and address.

Bram is Managing Director of @flandersscientific, now part of the @atomos.global, and has worked in the professional video industry for more than 21 years.

Colour accuracy, display calibration and metameric failure have long been particular areas of interest. At Flanders Scientific, Bram has helped pioneer menu-selectable colour-matching options and user-driven perceptual colour-matching workflows designed to tackle the challenges of matching modern display technologies.

Bram will host Metamerism 2026, guiding the conversation as we explore the gap between measured colour, perceived colour and what ultimately reaches the screen.
