I’m deeply appreciative of being welcomed into the Recording Academy’s 2026 New Member Class.
@grammys

It’s an honor to be part of a community of music creators and professionals who are helping support, uplift, and advocate for the people who make and shape music.

I’m grateful for the opportunity to use my voice, contribute to the Grammy Awards process, and be part of conversations that help move our industry forward.

Music has many voices, genres, backgrounds, and perspectives, and I’m proud to add mine to the mix.

Well, while everyone is on social media… I figured this would be the perfect time to announce something BIG!

NEW ALBUM COMING SOON: CULTURE.

This next project is especially close to my heart because it was created with the African American experience and heritage in mind.

For generations, our people have endured injustice, racism, discrimination, pain, and moments that have tested our faith and our hope. Throughout our history, songs, hymns, and spiritual songs have helped carry us. Music has given us language when we couldn’t find the words. It has reminded us of who we are, where we come from, and the God who has kept us through it all.

That is the heart behind CULTURE.

And this month, we begin with the release of our single:

“STILL WE RISE.”

A song of resilience.
A song of hope.
A song of truth.
A reminder that after everything we have endured…

WE’RE STILL HERE.
WE’RE STILL STANDING.
AND STILL WE RISE.

This past week, @_linnysmith challenged me to get a little more creative with my approach to this particular tune for Back to Church Sunday.

“BBQ meets Sunday Morning” is what the man said 😂. So I did my part, he did his part, and somehow… we landed here 😆‼️Appreciate the push LINWOOD!!!

🎶 “In the Sanctuary” — Kurt Carr
🎶 “September” — Earth, Wind & Fire
🎶 “In the Stone” — Earth, Wind & Fire

Also, major shoutout to @titusjdewely for following through with the vision—even though he definitely didn’t see the light at the end of the tunnel at first 😂. Appreciate the trust!

@jamia.sings 💯‼️

The great @asaphaward shared with me that a major part of production is psychology. & Boy does that ring true with this one 😆… Genuinely, never a dull moment!

The tone, the ability, the anointing is TRUE and PURE! Love you J! Thank you for being YOU.

Oftentimes, the dynamic nuances a drummer brings to the table go overlooked or unnoticed; of course, that is until the music is absent of them.

Shout-out to the Kristina Barr’s of the World. The artists, vocalists, and musicians who recognize and appreciate the little things. Thanks For Getting It 💯

The Process 💻🎙️ @kristinabarr_

From the capture, to the vocal overdubs, to the editing; it’s very important that the energy remains positive and authentic throughout the entire process.

Anyone can sing or record, but does it feel genuine? Quite frankly, does it feel REAL?

Perfection is cool, but the priority is conviction. 🎯

Teamwork really does make the dream work. Shout out to Kris for being phenomenal! 🙏🏾

I told my people I’d try to do more of these, so pray my strength! 😆🙏🏾
