How hard can it be to make friends with total strangers? Our co-founder Lee gave himself 36 hours to find out...

Did you know that one out of every two Americans experience loneliness with 57% of New Yorkers admitting they are lonely.

@flashpacklee is moving to New York in the coming months, and is determined not to become one of those statistics, so he took some drastic measures to make friends in advance. Although he faced plenty of rejection, anyone that did stop to talk to Lee in his 36-hour friendship experiment was invited on a night out with him – with surprising results, as five new pals joined him for a bar crawl and karaoke until the early hours.

@flashpacklee had £500 left. So he flew to Brazil to doorstep a church until a priest handed him the keys to Christ the Redeemer. He climbed to the top of the statue and took a photo that went viral.
