Something we talked about so many times, but words that carry a completely different meaning for me now. Losing you has been one of the hardest battles I’ve ever had to face, and I’m still learning the lesson in all of it. I’ll continue to carry your name, your love, your memory and everything you taught me everywhere I go.

Every year we do a party recap for your birthday, but this isn’t a birthday recap. This was just the last time we went outside together.

Crazy thing is, I wasn’t even supposed to go. Earlier that day I had taken Tylenol for my cramps and that jawn took me OUT 😭 I was fully prepared to stay home, but you insisted that I come. You told me, “don’t bring the camera, I just want you to turn up with me.” And for some reason, something told me to bring that camera anyway.

I’m so happy I did.

At the time, it was just another night. I didn’t know I was capturing the last time we would ever go out together. I didn’t know one day I’d be sitting here looking through this footage wishing I could jump back into it for just a few minutes. I didn’t know how important this video would become to me.

You didn’t even want Flave the cameraman that night, you just wanted your best friend there with you. And I’m so glad I came. I’m glad I listened to you, and I’m glad I listened to whatever told me to grab that camera on my way out.

So nah, this isn’t our annual birthday recap. We never got the chance to make that one.

But I had one last jawn in the vault.

I can’t believe I’m even typing this…

Happy birthday, Ayzia. ❤️ Today would’ve been your 23rd birthday. We were supposed to be in Colombia right now celebrating you, and instead I’m sitting here posting memories and unfinished projects. I still can’t wrap my head around any of this. There are moments where I know exactly what happened, but my mind still can’t understand how somebody who was such a huge part of my everyday life is really not here.

I miss you so much. I miss talking to you. I miss laughing with you. I miss creating with you. I miss our random plans, our ideas, the things we said we were gonna do, and even the regular days that didn’t feel important at the time. I would give anything for one of those regular days now.

Nothing has felt the same since you left. And one of the hardest things to explain is that I don’t only miss you, I miss the version of myself that existed when you were here. Life felt different because you were in it. There was a version of me that could call you, pull up on you, create something with you, make plans with you, laugh with you, or just exist knowing you were somewhere in this world. I miss her too.

Watching these clips hurts because I remember how excited we were about what was coming next. Nobody knew everything we were putting together behind the scenes. We really thought we had time. More projects, more trips, more birthdays, more memories, more life. I never imagined I’d be the one looking back at all of it like this.

But I’m so grateful I got to know you, love you, create with you, dream with you, and experience a friendship like ours in this lifetime. I’ll carry the things we talked about, the things you taught me, the memories we made, and even the things we never got the chance to finish.

My dawg really walked from Philly to Cali while the whole net trolled him, the haters was hating, the devil was working, he even got hit by a car… and STILL completed his faith walk. 3,000 miles later, everybody quiet now.

Everybody sees the content. The photos. The events. The jokes. The social media version of us.

But I wanted to give y’all a real look into our friendship.

Five minutes doesn’t even begin to scratch the surface. I had to cut this video short because I honestly could’ve made it an hour long. There are so many memories, so many laughs, so many moments that only we got to experience.

I hope this lets people see the Ayzia I was blessed enough to know. The loving, protective, selfless, goofy, beautiful soul that changed so many lives, especially mine.

I love you and I miss you more than words could ever explain. This is only the beginning. I’ll spend the rest of my life making sure your name, your smile, and your light are never forgotten.
