Our featured artist for October, Snickerdoodle Studios, has his work on display in our windows through the rest of the month! This is our 8th month of our Monthly Artist Feature window, which features a new Twin Cities based artist every month. Come by our shop each month to view the work, we are located at 1218 Harmon Place, Minneapolis MN Snickerdoodle Studios’s Artist Bio: “Hey y’all, what’s good? If you’re looking at this, that means your eyes now gaze upon a whimsical world inspired by the likes of Saturday morning cartoons, pulp comics, japanese rpgs, modern art, and the racy manga encountered in my formative years as a teen boy yearning to get out of his skin. Born and raised in the North and Nordeast side of Minneapolis, I was surrounded by the arts as a child in the center of his dysfunctional childhood; one that still managed to yield many values and life lessons that I seek to tell in the works I create.  My mother was never an artist herself but carried a passion for the arts, and since little ol Shane was never discouraged from growing into his passions, he has emerged into adulthood as Just Another Broke Guy Drawing Anime Shit, or whatever. I am a storyteller at heart, and the complexity of unspoken human conversation is a subject of endless fascination that I try to put into my work. My body of work is an attempt to explore the spirit of what makes us human: our connections to others, the way we love and hate and desire each other, and the ways we internalize that in our mind as we move through life and its many relationships. By blending together bombastic energy, striking colors, and unspoken dialogue, I aim to make each piece one that begs me to question purpose versus passion, and begs you to quietly answer. What strikes your urge to gaze on what aesthetics and ideations you are attracted to? Flavor Jam: Spooky 🎃 Wednesday, October 21st is the next Flavor Jam, and we’ll be getting spooky 👻 Costumes encouraged! Our normal Flavor Jam fun, but with candy, a costume contest, coloring sheets, scary(ish) movies, and again this month we’ll have an extended halftime break featuring games and entertainment led by the spookiest there is, @sammylett This post also features some pics from last year’s Halloween flavor jam costumes Flavor Jam, at its core, is an open jam and artist meet up hosted by Flavor World at Greenroom in Uptown, Minneapolis.
