Mastering the elements: The reality of retouching beachside portraits. 🌊💻

When a photographer hands you a RAW file shot under wide-open, hazy beach lighting, your color grading and highlight management are instantly put to the test. In this project, the goal was all about control preventing the intense environmental haze from muddying the skin tones, while carefully balancing the highlights on the white satin dress and linen suit so we don't lose an ounce of fabric texture.

Every pore on the skin is kept intact, and the micro-details are perfectly balanced without looking over-processed or plastic. Premium retouching is about elevating the original image while keeping the final result completely seamless and true to life.

For this shot, I wanted to preserve that soft ocean air haze while making sure their skin tones and the crisp whites of their outfits felt premium, warm, and timeless.

📸 Shot in 2015, reborn in House Targaryen 🐉✨

When I opened this raw file, the classic blonde hair and structure immediately gave me pure House of the Dragon energy. I knew the standard clean-up wouldn't cut it this needed a royal Valyrian dreamy glow.

Swiped left to see the raw file transformation. I completely rebuilt the skin transitions to handle the harsh older lighting, color-graded the undertones to match that cinematic warmth, and preserved every single micro-texture. Old data, modern luxury.
