POSTS STORIES REELS

Leaving Folsom after an insightful USHBC Board retreat! We heard from incredible speakers, spent time with our counterparts in California’s walnut industry, and had thoughtful conversations about the opportunities ahead for blueberries.

I’m grateful to serve alongside people who care so deeply about our growers and our industry’s future. As I prepare to step into the USHBC chair role, I’m especially thankful for Ellie Norris’s leadership and friendship.

Next up: recording next week’s Business of Blueberries podcast with Ellie! Looking forward to discussing our leadership transition, her next chapter as NABC chair, and our shared excitement for what’s ahead. by @flbluefarms

Grateful for the opportunity to meet with Congressman Soto @ the @blueberries booth @ the Global Floral & Produce Show and accompany him to several other booths including @lmcompanies with @adamlytch and of course @freshfromflorida with @chef_timineri and others! by @flbluefarms

Enjoyed meeting Chile’s Undersecretary of Agriculture, Francesco Venezian, and Agricultural Attaché Andrés Rodríguez at the USHBC booth yesterday during IFPA’s Global Produce & Floral Show in Orlando! 🫐

We had a great conversation about Chile’s blueberry production, its role in the global blueberry industry, and the opportunities and challenges facing growers. I always appreciate the chance to exchange perspectives and discuss how we can continue growing demand for blueberries while supporting the growers behind them.

Great to see Byron Donalds @byrondonalds and witness first hand his enthusiasm for Florida’s future! I’m confident he will keep our state focused on what matters—strong families, thriving businesses, a vibrant agricultural industry, and opportunities for the next generation. Looking forward to his leadership in continuing to make Florida the best state to live, work, and raise a family! 🇺🇸☀️ by @flbluefarms

A YES vote on Amendment 2 would support Florida farms, protect open spaces and preserve the local food and farm experiences that keep Florida special. by @flbluefarms

We have ZUCCHINIS! 🥒

Last summer’s project at Florida Blue Farms was our wildly successful heirloom pumpkin trial.
This summer, we replanted our pumpkin patch and planted a small test plot of zucchini (and an even smaller patch of acorn squash) to see how they would perform.

We’re excited to share that our fresh zucchini is now available at The Grove Shack in Melrose (@the_groveshackriddlinggroves)!
Be sure to check their hours before you head over.

We’ll be exploring additional places to offer these delicious, locally grown veggies in the future. In the meantime, grab some while they last! by @flbluefarms

It might still be July but Fall is right around the corner!
We are excited to offer #FreshFromFlorida heirloom pumpkins again! These beautiful pumpkins are growing nicely this summer. 🎃🎃🎃

Visited Egmont Key bird sanctuary, jumped of the wreck of an old fort, paddle boarded and even hooked into a beefy nurse shark back on the docks! Beautiful families and these 7 children were an absolute dream so well behaved, respectful and allowed the kid in me to shine!

This week blueberry growers from across the US as well as BC, Peru, Chile and Mexico were in Washington, D.C. for the North American Blueberry Council’s annual Hill Climb — sharing the story of our farms and advocating for the future of our industry.

A highlight for me was the incredible opportunity to meet with Secretary of Ag Brooke Rollins. A sincere thank you to Kat Cammack @therealkatcammack for her continued leadership and support of agriculture.
Yesterday she helped move the Farm Bill out of committee and also worked to secure Secretary Brooke Rollins’ signature on the disaster declaration for Florida following the devastating freeze our growers experienced earlier this season and still had time to meet with growers in the hallway outside her committee room!

Moments like these remind us how important it is for farmers to be present in the policy conversations that impact our livelihoods.

Grateful for the opportunity to represent Florida growers alongside the incredible team at the North American Blueberry Council and share the real stories from our farms.
