A few highlights from Yosemite National Park! This park is huge! And there is lots to see… first we explored Tuolumne Meadow. What isn’t pictured is the soda springs. Carbonated water bubbles out of the ground! It’s fizzy and tastes like iron.

Tenaya Lake was incredible! The water is so clean and blue!

Olmsted point was our first overlook. That little lump next to Lori’s head is half dome.

There are so many overlooks in this park.

Glacier Point couldn’t ever be captured in a photo. You can see so much and so far. Half Dome is sticking up towards the right. On the left side towards the bottom, you can see Nevada Falls and Vernal Falls below it.

El Capitan. Yep. It’s huge.

Lower Yosemite Trickle, I mean Falls. The Falls are fed by melting snow, by this time of year, they are just a tiny portion of what they are in spring !

We did get to see some bears! Two cubs and mama bear. We were in our car, so don’t worry.

Mariposa Grove is a grove of Sequoia trees in the south portion of the park. This is a video of the California tunnel tree. They used to drive cars through it back in the day. The tree is still alive and well!

Fallen Monarch. They don’t know when this tree fell but it was some point before 1850! Because of how resilient the sequoia’s are, it still hasn’t rotted away.

A few highlights from our full day at Lake Tahoe. The day started with getting some fitness in at @ironbattalioncrossfit !

It’s a beautiful gym with a beautiful view! One of the best drop ins we’ve had!

Then we took to the lake on our tandem kayak. One of Lori’s bucket list activities! The water was so clear and notably didn’t smell like a lake.

(Not pictured) We got to hang out on our own little private beach for a bit before we paddled back. And yep. I got sunburned. Despite SPF 50… and yep Lori got a perfect tan… 🙄

After dinner we climbed to the top of Cave Rock (the rock formation to the right in this photo) to watch the sunset.

Then we ventured to Nevada beach to hang out and see the stars from the water’s edge.

The star viewing wasn’t as good as planned. We didn’t realize that it was one night away from a full moon. As soon as the moon rose it was basically a sun! 😂 but it was neat to watch it rise over the mountains after watching the sunset earlier. by @fleea

Full day in the Redwoods! Just a few highlights.

Started the day at Fern Canyon

Ferns grow on the walls of the canyon. Anyone ever see Fern Gully?

Then a short walk to Gold Bluffs Beach.

Then off to see big trees. Lots of big trees!

We made our way down Howland Hill road, which was once a carriage trail. Makes for some tight squeezes!

So many ferns!

Found a surprise river! Sad we didn’t have proper swimming attire… the water was crystal clear

Found some elk, ironically grazing under the Elk Valley sign

Ended our day checking out the light house in Crescent City. You can only access it during low tide. We were too late but it was neat to see! taken in Redwood National Park by @fleea

Some highlights from today’s adventure at Lassen Volcanic National Park…

5 mile hike to Bumpass Hell

Dipped our feet in the crystal clear Lake Helen

Snow! It snows so much here that despite being almost 90° during the day, snow can still be found around the park well into summer!

A large chunk of the park was burned by the Dixie Fire in 2021 by @fleea

Had a blast competing over the weekend! Thank you @pallas.fitness (and all their volunteers) for being such great hosts and putting together really awesome prize packages (which also included cash prizes!) The work put into this event did not go unnoticed. Congrats to @mehlisa for coming in 2nd in her division. And lastly, Thank you to my lovely wife, @lmart822 , who did a great job being my moral (and everything else) support for the day, but next year we’re gonna get you out there on that floor. 😘 taken in CrossFit Pallas by @fleea

@crossfitgames Open 25.2… was still 5 reps shy of finishing under the time cap, but got 30 reps further than I did in 2022! by @fleea
