Designing to get reactions vs designing to sell can be two very different things.Finding a balance of being well stocked in the commercial drivers, while also having room to express the brands USP is the sweet spot.Then somewhat boring things like sales and inventory analysis come into the picture.Funnily I now find satisfaction in that kind of work, knowing that equation is getting a little bit better. by @fleecegibson

It’s so funny how things can appear so glamorous online, I’ll admit I’ve felt the FOMO of PFW.Despite the record breaking heat, everyone somehow looks chic.I had to remind myself of my own experiences visiting Paris in previous years. For me it was an incredibly isolating experience.Trying to make friends, acting like you belong, dealing with constant rejection.I’ve been focused on business closer to home for the past couple of years and benefiting from the fruits of this labour.Reminder to self: everything in your own time and context is key. by @fleecegibson

Often the best gauge for success in a garment design is if you truly believe in it and want to wear it constantly, but what about when that doesn’t really lead to full price sales.In a fashion business you have to keep pushing for a long time even when it doesn’t make sense and all signs are telling you to stop.Until eventually the accumulation of small wins and persistence starts to snowball in to real measurable success and growth.The funny thing is that’s often the time that every one wants to jump on and back what you’re doing. So shout out to all the people that support small businesses before they’re validated on a bigger scale 🫡 by @fleecegibson
