Stripes! We give stripe promotions as an indicator of growth between belts. It is visual evidence of your progression in your training and overall journey through jiu jitsu. We all come to the mat from a unique past, bringing our individual strengths and weaknesses to work with. As a result, the speed or nature of your growth can look different from your teammates. Each of these students have put in work on the mat and in their life to grow, improve, and progress along the path. This was a crazy tournament. Won on points, won on a DQ second rd, lost by advantage in the final. I’d like to thank God, and all of my team mates, and coaches that supported me. Shot out Melissa for screaming on me when it mattered. I appreciate you 🙏🏾 I feel blessed to be able to compete, I couldn’t even lift weights or look over my shoulder a week ago. lol and smh by @fleezeytaughtme

One of the things that I enjoy most about training martial arts is not just the techniques and skills I learn, but in the people I meet and the friendships I develop. And over the years, I’ve met some amazing people. One of the coolest for sure is Jaime Fletcher @fleezeytaughtme . He’s an old school guy like me ( we’ve both been around a LONG time) and has some amazing stories and skills.
