Spoofy-spoofy-doo! Got some work to do, now.
Pay no attention to that man the curtain! Don’t question! There’s nothing to see here, folks! Move it along, ya buncha lookie-loos! Nothing to hear either! So you just clear outta here, ya listeny-loos! No, there’s nothing to smell here either, ya dam sniffy-loos! And don’tcha try to taste anything either, because there’s nothing to taste!… buncha licky-loos!
This is the short version of the cartoon. There’s more, which I will post in a bit, ok?

Ten custom “Gronch” palm fronds masks made and sold over the years.
Two left and more on the way. My best selling masks, though not of my original design, but based on a popular folk holiday figure.
Don’t let’s forget, the Sawdust Winter Fantasy is only a little more than a months away!
Come enjoy the festivities and art, including my holiday-themed palm frond masks and of course, Caricatures!

No! It didn’t! But if it did, then it had a good reason to, ok?!?!
Old work, but still current.

Jabberwocky
palm frond mask
Is BAAAAAAAAADDDDD!!!!!!!!
Haven’t been displaying this one in my booth lately, for fear of scaring the kids.
But it’s Halloween time and the spirits and spooks are all about!
Think of all the fun you could have spooking your neighbors with this genuinely fearsome mask!
At first I made it to represent the spirit of anger, but then I rebranded it as the Jabberwocky “with eyes of flame” for an Alice in Wonderland themed party.

Five years of Sawdust Festival Fashion Shows.
I am a fashionista, among other things.
My practice of making clothes comes from the Burning Man tradition of making one’s own clothes.
The style is simple, minimal, practical festival-wear. It gets cold in the desert! Also hot!
My latest, the checkerboard suit, is designed to match my booth’s checkerboard floor.

Trevor, Eden, and Dean are my neighbors at the Sawdust Festival.
They make and sell handmade jewelry in their booth.
They have been a support to me in my business, having hired me to draw at their wedding, three or four years ago, and to draw their son Dean this year. They are vitally active in the Sawdust, having made the entrance windmill with its ornate glass blades, as a tribute to the original windmill at the Sawdust 60 years ago, and on the Artists Benevolence Fund committee. Dean is a dancer, always seen with his mallet and conductor’s baton. This portrait was my gift to them.

Don’t let’s forget, the Sawdust Winter Fantasy is only two months away!
Come enjoy the festivities and art, including my holiday-themed palm frond masks and what looks like beer.
The Caricature booth was a smashing success! Another year and a half with this booth, and four seasons of Sawdust.

Caninical caricanimal

And just like that it’s over.
But also not really, because I’m still working hard drawing caricatures at parties and on commission.
I have art left over from the season, so don’t worry!
You can see us in the Sawdust Winter Fantasy from a week before black friday until a week before x-mas.
