🌎 Sebastjan Vovko of Slovenia / Fleming International Coach! We are so fortunate to have some of the leading advocates of this sport as a part of our extended team! Creating and fostering an international mentorship initiative for our members was a key goal in the development of our Team.

We aspired through mentorship to encourage the next generation of firefighters/ competitors to take their training and wellness knowledge to a new level by matching them with individuals who not only are National/World Champions.. but most importantly are truly passionate about first responder health and fitness.

Sebastjan Vovko of Slovenia has been an incredible mentor since the onset of this initiative. His passion for the sport is evident in not only his inspiring success on the world stage, but through his tireless volunteer hours on and off the course.

As an inaugural member of the Firefighter Challenge Oversight Committee who helped shape the international sports league we see today… to virtual coaching of our own students… he loves this sport and cares about the path it’s development it will take.

Despite his long list of world level achievements he is one of the most approachable and generous athletes. Always there to support our team, race with our members and to coach them… taking their skills to the next level. This is a theme that you will see with Seba no matter where he is. He believes strongly in encouraging the next generation and all those around him.

Watch out worlds.. the Wolf is headed your way! And he certainly has a loud Canadian cheering squad in his corner! 🔥🐺.

🌎Dan Brady / Fleming International Coach! We are so fortunate to have some of the leading advocates of this sport as a part of our extended team! Creating and fostering an international mentorship initiative for our members was a key goal in the development of our Team.

We aspired through mentorship to encourage the next generation of firefighters/ competitors to take their training and wellness knowledge to a new level by matching them with individuals who not only are National and World Champions.. but most importantly are truly passionate about first responder health and fitness.

Dan Brady of New Zealand has been one of the most inspiring role models for our pre-service firefighters for three years. His dedication to his own training and career is only riveled by his advocacy and encouragement of those around him. Dan’s willingness to share his experience and skills has made a profound impact on those lucky enough to call him a coach, friend or teammate. Through his own actions and kindness he has instilled the value of hardwork, determination and self-belief in our students.

A multi National Champion and World Medalist we cannot wait to cheer him on as he takes on the 2026 Firefighter Challenge World Championships in Las Vegas Oct 19-24… we wish him much success and a fantastic week! Good luck Team New Zealand! 🇳🇿 We will be cheering from Canada! Thank you Dan for your long-time support of our team! 🙌🏻. Be sure to follow @teamnz_firefighterchallenge to watch the kiwis on the big stage 🔥

As a self-financed team, offering this first responder wellness initiative to pre-service firefighters is a challenging undertaking. Losing access to loaner gear created a significant hurdle. …Cue the walk-on of the amazing organization Bruce Power.. 🕺🔥.

Spearheaded by long time supporter and Bruce Power firefighter, Lauren Messer 👑 a game plan was set. We cannot thank you enough for your donation of expired gear! Thank you for believing in the impact of this initiative on future firefighters and the communities they will go on to serve.

We each drove a cumulative of 6 hours to meet in the middle to make it happen.. and wow did the team look stylin’ for 2026! 🫶🏻. Grateful!

🥉🥈 Brantford FireFit Regional 2026…
A big congratulations to..

🥉 The amazing duo of India Travers (Fleming) and Danielle Rozon (Bruce Powers) for a Bronze Medal in Women’s Hybrid Tech2 Division

🥈 The killer combo of Carissa Jones (Fleming) & Joey Forbes (Owen Sound FD) for a Silver Medal in Coed Hybrid Tech2

A massive thank you all our hybrid tech2 partners this season from Departments from across Ontario, Quebec and Newfoundland. These partnerships allow our students to connect and learn from seasoned competitors and experienced firefighters. These connections provide our students with valuable networking, resources and support within the fire service giving them a heightened advantage in a competitive hiring market. Did you our team alumni have a hiring rate of double that of an average pre-service student in Ontario? The Fleming FireFit initiative brings home more than just medals to our team members and community 🔥
