She wove it to keep the dead from leaving.

🕯💀 A Saint of Ruin

This piece is inspired by the luxurious catacomb saints of old European cathedrals. A Saint of Ruin is a macabre relic of bone, silver, and violet flowers. An ivory skull rests within ornate baroque filigree, adorned with cascading dark amethyst crystals, a tribute to the sacred beauty once bestowed upon the remains of the departed.

Even death was dressed in finery, and the forgotten made divine.

🕯️ The art begins long before the finishing touches!

Every shadow box I create starts with the construction itself. Rather than using cardboard to build the interior depth, I use wood to create a solid, structured foundation for my work.
It’s an extra step. It takes more time, more effort, and more attention to detail. But the foundation matters just as much as what eventually lives within it.

I believe the vessel that holds a collection of curiosities deserves the same consideration as the curiosities themselves.

Because true craftsmanship is in the details you may never see. 🖤

Taking an break from art today!

My favorite apples were ready to pick today, so of course I had my calendar marked so I wouldn't miss it!

Ambrosia apples are my absolute faaaaaavorite! They are naturally very sweet, firm, and crispy! Literally the best, in my opinion! I can't stand a grainy apple, not a good mouth feel at all. But thankfully, the ambrosia are perfect!!

✨️ The Enchanted Orb ✨️

I have a witchy event next week, and I figured I'd make some smaller things that are a bit more fitting.

There's a fluorite crystal chunk in the center, dried flowers with moss, some hanging chains, and a mini mirror. This piece is meant to be hung using a hook away from a wall.

Death's Adornment🩸

Crimson candles flicker among silver, crystal, chains, and delicate wings, all gathered beneath the curve of antique glass. A little ceremony of beauty and decay, where what has passed is not forgotten, but adorned, preserved, and left to linger in the shadows.

18" × 12" | One-of-a-kind original assemblage.

Featuring an antique convex-glass frame, preserved natural specimens, sculptural elements, crystals, chains, and hand-applied details in silver, black, and crimson.

Center bat frame is a creation from @julianthe2nd , go check out his work and give him a follow!
