Apparently there are quite a few versions of me happening at once. I’m Daisy the woman behind Fleur & Fiore. I photograph women building something meaningful, and the more I’ve thought about that sentence, the more I’ve realised “building” doesn’t only mean a business. Sometimes it absolutely does. It’s the business you started with whatever time you had available, that now has clients, systems, bigger ideas and an old headshot that belongs to a version of you from three years ago. But sometimes you’re building a family. Starting again. Making it through something difficult. Celebrating something that might seem relatively insignificant to everyone else, but feels enormous to you. I think that’s the thread running through everything I photograph. Women, and the things that matter to them. As for me? I’m a wife, mama to 3 boys - one looking down on us, studio owner and student midwife. I love concerts, a cheeky holiday, projects I can completely lose myself in, renovating things that were arguably fine before I got involved, and collecting hobbies as though somebody has given me an extra 2 days in the week. And I’m a big dreamer. There is almost always another idea on the horizon. So around here you’ll find brand photography, moments worth celebrating, behind the scenes, motherhood, business, creativity and probably the occasional thing that has occupied far too much space in my brain that week. For nearly five years, my body has not fully been my own. Two pregnancies. Countless nights. And two and a half years of breastfeeding Luca, my youngest, my last baby. I planned this shoot intentionally. Not as a photographer chasing a frame, but as a mother wanting to document a season I knew was slipping away. Weaning him is not dramatic. It’s quiet, layered, emotional. Part grief. Part relief. Part pride. Motherhood asks us to give our bodies in ways that are rarely spoken about; To carry, to nourish, to soften, to surrender. And while I am endlessly grateful for what my body has given, I am also learning to welcome it back as my own. This is the closing of the baby years. And the beginning of something gentler, returning to myself. by @fleurandfiore_

Let's clear this up. ➡️ Why do photographers talk about creative direction? Because there's a lot more to a branding shoot than turning up with a camera and taking a few nice photos. At least, there should be. ➡️ What actually is creative direction? It's the planning behind the images. We look at your business, what you're trying to communicate, where the images will be used and how we can bring it all together visually. Think mood boards, locations, outfits, props, shot lists and all those little details that make a shoot feel cohesive rather than like a random collection of photos. ➡️ Do I need it for my branding shoot? I'd argue yes. Especially if you're investing in professional images for your business. But here's the important part: you don't need to do the creative direction yourself. That's what I take care of. You bring the business. I'll bring the plan. Something a little different for Kaitlyn’s branding session. We photographed her in the very bookstore where, in just a couple of weeks, she’ll be launching her book. A book written to help children understand IVF, and the story of how they came to be. And I think that makes these images even more special. There’s something about standing in a place where something you’ve poured so much of yourself into is about to become real. Knowing that soon, your words will be in the hands of families who might see a little of their own story reflected in them. I love the idea of documenting these moments before they happen. The anticipation. The excitement. That slightly surreal feeling of seeing something you’ve worked so hard on finally come together. And getting to photograph Kaitlyn at Harry Hartog, where she’ll soon be celebrating the launch of her book, felt like such a lovely way to honour this part of her story. Sometimes the benefit of brand photography is much less profound than people make it sound. You just stop having to hunt through your camera roll every time you need to post something. And I think that’s quite a good reason. A useful gallery gives you different expressions, crops, orientations, settings and details so you’re not trying to make one nice headshot do the work of an entire business. Website update? There’s something for it. Email? Yep. New offer? You have options. Post you wrote ten minutes ago and would quite like to publish without spending another half hour looking for an image? Also covered. Less friction. You don’t need to come to your brand shoot with a perfectly planned shot list. That’s my job. What I actually need from you is the context. Tell me about your business. What you’re working on. What you’re launching. What’s changing. Where you’re showing up and where these photos actually need to live. Then I start thinking about what we need to create. The website banner with enough negative space for copy. The headshots that actually feel like you now. The details, movement and working shots you can use behind text. The images that give you something useful to post instead of reaching for the same photo for the 47th time. I’ll build the plan, send it to you before the shoot and you can tell me what feels right, and what doesn’t. And then on the day? We leave room to play. Because sometimes the best idea is the one we didn't have until we were standing in the room. You show up,I'll take care of the rest 🤍 . . . . Not everything worth celebrating comes with a ceremony. Some things do. The ring. The two lines. The birthday. The new business. And some things are quieter. Finishing treatment. One year sober. Signing the divorce papers. Getting the qualification you nearly gave up on. Making it through a year that took more from you than most people knew. Or maybe something happened that wouldn’t look particularly significant to anybody else. But it was to you. And I think we spend a lot of time waiting for the officially approved reasons to make a fuss. Weddings. Babies. Big birthdays.
