zen & neon

Shot with a Canon IXUS 60, zen & neon (Japan 2024) is a serie that explores Japan’s two faces: the quiet rhythm of daily life, rooted in tradition, zen, and social restraint, and the chaotic release of a beast during nightlife, where those restraints dissolve into drunken crowds, neon lights, and overwhelming noise.

This photo collection gently reveals the duality of contemporary Japan. It captures moments of calm and cultural depth alongside scenes of contrast; busy streets, neon lights, and the uninhibited energy of the night. by @fleurdolmans
