With IN SEARCH OF IDENTITY, we open our new concert series IDentities.

We’re exploring how our origins, encounters and experiences shape us and how music can challenge, change and sometimes reveal who we are.

Brahms, Honegger, Janáček, Bosmans, Kurtág & McCartney’s Blackbird meet in one evening, bringing different worlds and voices together.

And we’ll be joined by psychologist Dr. Jana Kammerhoff, opening up the conversation beyond the music.

We’d love to explore these questions with you. 🖤

Das erzählt euch Fellowship-Künstlerin @marthabijlsma in unserer neuen bee.podcast-Episode. Die Cellistin setzt eine gute Portion Experimentierfreude ein, um das #Beethovenfest 2026 mit zwei besonderen Projekten zu bereichern. A few fond memories from our reFLEX Open-Air SommerFestival last month! 🌿✨

Not quite as open air as we had planned—but full of wonderful music, inspiring encounters, and unforgettable moments.

A heartfelt thank you to our amazing audience, our fantastic guest artist @marinabara_nova, and all the talented young musicians (partly studying at the @iff.hannover) who joined us for our Next Generation Concert. Special thanks to @hoelderlin_eins and their dedicated volunteers and to all our supporters and funding partners who made this festival possible.

We're already looking forward to seeing you again next year! 💛

Open-Air Concerts are a tricky business... We spent most of today discussing whether or not we should play outside, mopping floors and making sure parts of the podium didn't hit people. In the end we played both concerts inside and it was a beautiful day. Both Johannes and @marinabara_nova evoked a wonderful sound out of the upright piano (while a beautiful concert grand piano was waiting outside all alone). The audience was happy and so are we! Sunday concerts will be inside too, kids concert at 11:00 and "Next Generation" concert with @iff.hannover at 13:00, join us at @hoelderlin_eins by @flex.ensemble
