First FO of 2023 - technically should have been last make of 2022 but I totally over estimated my ability to make her in a week! 🤣🤣 it’s a secret Santa gift (don’t worry they know) and I’ve loved making her. It’s the Little Angel pattern by @airali_gray crocheted in various @scheepjes yarn and @dmc_embroidery 🧶

On Thursday I sent a lovely few hours at a lovely The Secret Garden workshop hosted by @harriet_bloom_studio

I loved learning about creative journaling and some tricks to make start making enviable spreads, hoping to have fun with these techniques with my written journal📓

Netty’s beautiful store is a treasure trove of wonderful paper crafting goodness & like Alice I’ve fallen down another crafty rabbit hole!

Can’t wait for my next visit!

Serene Saturday spent amongst friends at @sewcialstitchers_midlands where in true Flick fashion I talked a lot and crafted a little!

I’ve just attached ball 7 of last years @spectrumfibre advent calendar to my blanket WIP and being as it is a crochet pattern I could 🐸 when I got too distracted with chatting!

Morning & happy Monday, Freyja is starting her day right with a sweet treat (it’s a squeaky toy but don’t tell her!) it’s raining here at the moment so easing myself in with a cuppa.

This week is a quieter one with various appointments but I’m determined to get my sewing machine out to have a play - it’s been far too long! I also need to sort out my WIPs and retire the ones that aren’t inspiring me and reuse the yarn for something else.

Quiet wonder round the church of St Peter &st Paul in Heydon this morning. Found by chance but really enjoyed the visit. Some 15c wall pairings still in place as well as an original Queen Anne coat of arms.

Happy International Nurses Day to all the amazing nurses across the world & to those I’ve had the immense privilege to work alongside side of 🩷

Towards the end of last year I took the difficult decision to hang up my nurses’ uniform after 20 plus years.

Due to many years of continuing health & mobility problems, I needed to reconsider my options & what was best for me & my family & so I said goodbye to what was always a childhood dream of mine.

However, I now look forward to an exciting new chapter where I get to work on another dream of mine & undertake a counselling degree from this autumn.

Deep down I will always be a nurse & I’m grateful for all the life lessons it’s taught me 🩷💙 by @flicklovestoknit

Recently finished a long term WIP 🥳 just in time for this years Halloween! 👻

Using a crafty decision wheel to help move some WIPs along definitely helped me to focus on its completion.

It’s a @caterpillarcrossstitch Halloween kit from 2024. I love the use of pastels to create a cute Halloween design.

My plans are to get a black ornate frame for it to hang in, just hope it doesn’t take another 18 months to do that!! 😂

Beautiful spring walk with the bean & @shibayoma

Made lots of new friends, played with sticks and a spot of training all whilst James had a dip!
