Powerless series mini review + the autumn flavors tag

I’ve been loving doing these fall tags lately! They are just so fun and cozy but I decided to combine it with a mini series review!

Powerless series mini review ⚔️🥀⌛️💫

So I feel like this is a very beloved series across booksta and booktok, but I don’t really fall within that category. I was so excited for this series because it was compared to the hunger games and red queen and those are some og book series for me that I absolutely loved when I read them. But I feel like Ms. Roberts took a bit TOO much inspiration from those books specifically the Red Queen “inspo” in Powerless. I actually really enjoyed Powerful and the ending was so sad. I was reallyyy enjoying Reckless for like the first half but then it was soooo repetitive and I thought the ending was so dumb. Usually I’m here for a fun and easy going YA fantasy, but unfortunately I don’t think this series is entirely for me but I don’t think that’s going to stop me from reading the last book lol.

꩜ I feel like I always say binding/keeping 13 and play along so this time I’m going to say outdrawn by Deanna Grey. I loved this book so much omg 🥹

🥮 Caramel: a book that feels like a warm blanket (comfort read)
꩜ Everytime I think of a comfort read I automatically go to out on a limb! I just don’t think I’ve experienced such a cozy romance like that one before

🍂 Cinnamon: a book that spiced up your life (surprised you)
꩜ Not in love by ali hazelwood surprised me because I wasn’t expecting to love it as much as I did! I gave it five stars and ate up every single moment I had with that book🤭

🍎 Apple: a book that is sweet and sour (you love but it has mixed reviews)
꩜ Mile high, so many people do not like that book and I am not one of those people! Zanders and Stevie will forever remain in my heart

🎃 Pumpkin: a book you recommend for autumn

Autumn lover tag 🧶🍂🎃🥧🕯️

Happy Friday besties!! I’m so unbelievably glad the week is over because I’ve so stressed and I’m done with midterms (for now 😔) I also have had no time to read and it makes me so sad 😩 but hoping I read something this weekend idk what it’s going to be but it’s definitely gonna be something!!

September wrap up 💀🖤📖🔪🩸

I don’t know about yall but I’m so glad September is over! Not the best month for me and for some reason I was in a dark romance mood knowing that I only like a specific type of dark romance. I don’t mind dark elements but I don’t like when the romance aspect is extremely dark and I don’t like dub/con at all or an extremely possessive mmc. Murder and gore don’t really bother me (idk what that says about me so let’s not analyze it!)

I’m currently about 32% into the lies we steal and tbh I’m not loving it 😔

I wish I had higher ratings but hoping October gives me that! I’ve stopped making monthly tbrs or even hopefuls lists because I never stick to them and it stresses me out sometimes lol but I do have some books that I have no choice but to read this month

Magnolia Parks Long Way Home - book review💫

*Warning long review ahead because I got a lot to say*

The way I read this book in August and I’m still feeling the after affects of this book should be studied. Idk what Jessa put in this series but I’ve never read ANYTHING like it before.

Going into this book, I was ready to despise Bj and Magnolia just like I did in the first book but I came out of it with a deeper understanding of them as people and their relationship together. Before this book I was the biggest Bj hater but why do I kinda like him now??? He was making some sense in this book then he would go and do something stupid but I’m starting to realize that that’s just him and while there was some growth he’s just a stupid rich kid and that’s his truth! And he’s actually really funny. Magnolia also grew on me a bit. She stood on business and she also got vulnerable in this book which made me feel for her so hard.

But it wouldn’t be a Bj and Magnolia book if they didn’t actively annoy me multiple times throughout the book. Both together and apart. And y’all the conversation in the car with Taura and Jonah (iykyk) was hilarious!! Omg I was rolling the whole time. And then everything that happened when they got back from the trip 🙄

So much back and forth, backstory, and raw moments were integrated in this book and I ate up every moment. Don’t even get me started on the ending because what do you actually mean?!?! I couldn’t believe it and I still refuse to! I just know into the dark is going to destroy me and I’m absolutely not ready 😪 How do people binge this series because I be needing breaks

I really do want to start Daisy Haites the great undoing but I am soooo scared. Like based on the way this book ended I just know Julian and the crew had shit hitting the fan on their end and I don’t think I can do it yet knowing the next Daisy book hasn’t been announced yet

Happy Thursday besties!! How is everyone? The week is almost over which I am so thankful for!! Lately I’ve been spending all my time in the library studying for 2 exams I have on the SAME day next week so I’ve been a bit stressed 😅

Nighttime is usually the only time I have to read so I’ve been listening to dead man walking by Giana darling and man is it dark. Like I’m not reallyyy a dark romance girly but lately that’s all I’ve been wanting to read and I don’t know why

Also if you haven’t read the curse breaker trilogy by Brigid Kemmerer then you definitely should! Everyone always talks about the defy the night trilogy but this trilogy was the first series I read by this author. It’s a beauty and beast inspired YA fantasy and it’s so fun and easy to read! Definitely perfect for the fall 🍂

Happy Sunday and the first day of fall!! 🍂

It’s also football sunday today so I thought I’d share a football romance post! 🏈 I love sports romance and my favorites are football, hockey, and baseball (solely because of Isaiah Rhodes 🤭). I’ve read more football romances but I only own 3 physically so here they are!!

Darling Venom - book review💫

Book rating: 3🌟

I really really enjoyed the first half of this book. I liked seeing Charlotte’s and Kellan’s “friendship” develop even under the circumstances of how they met. After what happened happened, I’m trying to be vague as to not spoil anything, I’m glad the timeline jumped a little and I really enjoyed the back and forth between Tate and Charlotte. Their banter was great and Tate was so determined to be this grumpy fuck everyone man and I was ready to see the more vulnerable side to him. As much as I enjoyed the first half, the second half of the book was not my favorite. I didn’t really care about seeing Charlotte edit this manuscript (again trying to be vague) and Charlotte and Tate’s relationship development was so hot and cold.

Like one moment they would start opening up more and progress but then something would happen and they would get in an argument and be done with one another. Also it was so evident that Charlotte liked Tate so much more than he liked her at many points throughout the book and that just pissed me off because women should never be down bad. By the end I didn’t believe in their relationship like at all

Overall I think this book suffered from being too long, but that first half was great

This tbr is so incredibly ambitious because the time that I have to read these days is basically nonexistent 😆 so maybe this is just for fun and for me to envision myself in another universe being able to get through✨

✨Birthstone tag✨

@derais.tbr tagged me in this a while ago so here is my take!

December has 3 different birthstones, turquoise, zircon, and tanzanite, for whatever reason and they’re all shades of blue so here’s a blue stack!!

This also works as a Monday blues post because man am I feeling it today. I have so much work to do. The semester just started and I already feel like I’m drowning in work which means I haven’t had any time to read or even listen to my audiobooks send help expeditiously!!

Twilight favorites challenge 🍎

I love twilight and I will always shout it from the rooftops!! 🗣️🗣️ I am never ashamed of my love for this series because of what if did for me when I really needed it 🥹

I saw @derais.tbr and @readswjanelle do this challenge and I knew it was a challenge right up my alley 🤭 also shout out to @beachyreadss for creating this challenge!!

Breaking dawn part 1! This movie just does it for me like no other. But a close second is twilight (the first movie) because I rewatch it the most out of all of them. I’ve only read the books 1 time back in 5th grade so I don’t know what’s my favorite book. Twilight reread loading soon? 🤨

I think the wedding scene is my favorite. Like Bella walking down the isle for Edward and the music playing was just so perfect and magical✨
