Just getting a chance to soak in the last two weeks of floral design and travel…
there was a very special wedding, a whole lot of flowers, and a flight to Ireland! 🤍✈️🇮🇪

This one was truly special! An intimate wedding ceremony followed by a beautiful dinner celebration at a gorgeous home in Chicago’s Gold Coast.

The dining room table was 32 feet long and seated 54 guests!

The flowers were romantic, elegant, and just a little dramatic (check out the bar arrangement).

Seven oval centerpieces and 20 pillar candles brought the beautiful dinner table to life.

Thankfully, I enlisted Annette @ek_floral to help with all the floral magic.

What an honor to play a part in such a joyful and beautiful celebration🤍

And the icing on the cake? Less than 24 hours later, I was on a plane to Ireland for the week! 🇮🇪🍀 by @flipturnflowerco

Fifty & Fabulous!

When the birthday girl loves jewel tones, you bring on the COLOR! 🩷💜🧡

Three arrangements filled with hot pinks, rich purples, pops of orange, and lots of texture for a fabulous 50th birthday celebration!

The gorgeous locally grown zinnias and dahlias from Westwind Flower Company @westwindflowerco were the perfect finishing touches.

Berry, wine, cream & greens 🌿
The floral direction for this backyard engagement party was a palette of berry and wine tones, creamy whites and greens…all kept loose, casual and garden inspired to fit the outdoor, poolside setting.

I chose rattan and wicker vessels to keep everything relaxed and natural, then layered cream and quicksand roses, berry ranunculus, wine-toned blooms, a variety of greens and one of my favorite details ….. mini chartreuse and burgundy cymbidium orchids.

Ten smaller arrangements + one big statement piece, each a little different but designed to feel like part of the same story.

This one was very personal. 🫶

My nephew’s beautiful wife and Clare’s mom, Ashley, fought breast cancer for 5½ years. She fought gracefully, never complained and never surrendered.

It was an incredible honor for me to create the flowers that surrounded her as family and friends said goodbye.

I wanted them to feel like Ashley…pretty, feminine, colorful and full of life. Soft pinks and peaches, touches of blue and lavender, fresh green and lots of beautiful texture. Nothing somber. Just beautiful.

I remember one of my floral design teachers telling us that funeral flowers were some of her favorite flowers to create. She said it was her way of honoring the person who had passed and caring for the family and friends who loved them.

At the time, I didn’t completely understand.

I understand now. 🤍

Creating these flowers was my small way of honoring Ashley and surrounding her with beauty one last time.

Flowers can’t make a loss like this any easier. But sometimes they can say something when there simply aren’t words.

And we will make sure Clare grows up knowing just how extraordinary her mom was and how very, very much she was loved 🤍 by @flipturnflowerco

Today, the flowers needed to be bright. I used the most joyful colors and brightest blooms in honor of a sweet, kind spirit whose strength was remarkable.

“Bird-themed but not too bird-themed”. That was the assignment. 4 birdcages in all different shapes and sizes, 6 silver goblets, and the instructions from a trusting client who lives in North Carolina: “Here is my vision, I trust you”…challenge accepted! Flowers and greens growing in, around and through the cages…and just enough of a nod to the bird theme. It all just worked.
