I haven’t posted here in years. What’s pulled me back is a project close to my heart.

In 2017, ahead of the first Great American Solar Eclipse, I built a small company out of an unmarked San Francisco warehouse. As an aesthete, I had an allergy to disposable paper eclipse glasses. So I made real ones: beautiful frames, lenses you could trust, glasses worth keeping. I shipped thousands of pairs, then stood under totality with strangers. All of us crying at the same sky. Then the moon moved on, and for a while, so did I.

On August 12, 2026, it happens again. A total solar eclipse over Greenland, Iceland, and then, at sunset, the Balearic Islands. Above Ibiza, Mallorca, Menorca and Formentera, the sun sits just over the sea, the islands go dark for about a minute, then the sun sets into the Mediterranean before the eclipse even ends. It will not happen there again until 2135.

I brought HALO back, the way I always wished it could be. The Phoenix: one hand-polished acetate frame with three lenses that swap by magnet. Blue-light for your screen, polarized for the beach, and one lens made for looking straight at the sun (ISO 12312-2, independently lab tested, listed by the American Astronomical Society). Glasses you wear every single day, that also happen to be the most beautiful way to watch an eclipse.

The shape is inspired by my love of distinct, chic style - wearable, sexy, standout. It’s the Tom Ford, Jacques Marie Mage inspired quality specs of my dreams. I made it for an extraordinarily beautiful event where, for many, beauty became an afterthought.

The last thing I posted to the grid, years ago, was a hope to see you out in the wild. I meant it. This is where.

Croquet Day!

A very special evening bathed in sunlight with our hostess @victoriagrant; starting with Pimms in her divine atelier, before a stroll to the park for a picnic of dreams and a croquet match of the gods.

@marthasitwell & I sat on the side, occasionally flanked by Martha’s hounds Ethel & Ernest, being the audience. @purplecubephotography, Tezza, Tudor, @johnnycornwell, @fliyab and @victoriagrant played a glorious game and a fabulous time was had by all. Many thanks to our munificent queen, milliner extraordinary @victoriagrant. It was a rare sighting of her in the wild sans chapeau… by @fliyab

Riding into twenty four like…

2023 was a topsy turvy year, coming off the heels of a 2022 tsunami. Deeply grateful for the friends and family who showed up, took me in, held me in bear hugs, shared giggles, came adventuring, let me fall in love with your kiddos, dropped in deep, and never let me fall too far or stray too much from center.

Coming into 2024 on more solid ground, brimming with gratitude, infinite love for the humans I carry with me.

Hope to see more of you in ‘24 in 🇬🇧💂🏻 or out in the wild

I got to do a piece for my effervescent friend @fliyab 🩵
“The School for Formerly Pretty Girls” is her hilarious concept for an academy where one must learn to do things for themselves, like changing a tire or flying a plane. And how to pay for things, like a drink at a bar or taxes. And finally, gaining self-confidence without external validation (ahh, the endless struggle).

And this is her headmistress coat. 😄
