one of my highlights of the past year was making work for @de_volkskrant and seeing my work on the cover! true pinch me moment and i’m so grateful that i get to meet new people and visit cool places through my work ❣️

On the other side of the mirror

i’ve always known I was trans, but I’ve not always had the words for it, and when I did find the words for it, I didn’t always dare to say them out loud.

this project explores the complex and intricate feelings of a trans person who’s navigating the early stages of transitioning. I wanted to approach the questions that arise within this process with tenderness - without looking for conclusive answers, but holding space for the juxtapositions of visibility, change, and the feelings of coming home to yourself, always eager to meet the person on the other side of the mirror.

three 30x40cm prints and one scanned journal page (mirrored and printed), all of them only visible by looking at the mirrors facing them

this work was part of the ‘Mirror Becomes a Partner’ group exhibition together with the @fotodok.nl Lighthouse group at @rib_rotterdam . working with and learning from this group of talented artists was such a blessing. thank you all ❤️ by @flo__verhulst
